There are few things better than a buttered slice of toast with a spicy curry. This dish has become quite a rage among the youngsters in the City. 'Curry Toast', a small joint in Koramangala, has attracted college goers and young professionals of the area because of this staple dish.

"We introduced the concept of curry-toast to popularise the idea of an Indian burger. The bread is first soaked in butter and then toasted.

The curry is then added in between. If the customer wants, cheese can be added," says Parag Dutta, the CEO of the outlet. The idea behind this eatery was to start a quick service food outlet. The bread is moist and flavoured with butter, but the hero of the dish is the curry. "These curries are not the ones made at home. We have butter chicken, paneer butter masala and devilled chicken, which is a dry chicken recipe made with the Indian spices. Other mouth-watering curries like mushroom masala, chana masala and paneer korma go well with the bread as well.

The footfall in the outlet is very encouraging and lot of young people come to try our food. We encourage a lot of innovation and keep introducing new curries every now and then. We believe in quick responses and the whole concept of the outlet revolves around that," explains Dutta. The concept is popular not only among youngsters, but is also catching up with many corporates who prefer a 'rice box'. "A rice box has rice, curry and a dal along with other side dishes. The main attraction is the packaging of the box. We have emphasised on the packaging and tried to keep it professional, so that the food remains intact while being delivered to the corporates," he adds.

The main attraction of the outlet are the Indian curries, but what adds to its popularity are the Indian desserts like gulab jamun and shahi tukda. Curries definitely rule the roost in this one, but what is also popular are the rolls (chicken and vegetarian), which are the perfect evening snack for students.

"We have tried to stick to Indian curries and desserts. They can be coupled with bread, rice or a parantha. The demand is increasing so far and we want to introduce a couple of outlets to popularise the concept in the City," sums up Dutta.
'Curry Toast' is located at 125 KHB Colony, 5th block, Koramangala. For details contact 65711111. This is
