"The Forest'
DreamScope Theatre is coming up with its first children's play 'The Forest', written and directed by Puja Goyal. The play is performed by children and is for children.
Keeping in tune with the theme of the play, the stage of 'The Forest' is made of recycled and waste material and is eco-friendly. The play will be staged on August 5, 4.30 pm and 6.30 pm at the JSS Auditorium.
'Naman'
Nrityantar is holding the odissi dance festival, Naman 2012, on August 5, 5.30 pm at Seva Sadan, Malleswaram. The festival is an attempt to bring together and showcase varied styles and schools of odissi dance.
Gurus like Bhanumathi, Usha Venkateswaran, Lalitha Srinivasan, Veena Murthy Vijay and Minal Prabhu will be present on the occasion.
Bijayini Satpathy from Nrityagram will enchant the audience with her performance. The event will also feature Sonali Mohapatra, a hearing-impaired artiste from Bhubaneshwar.
Pabira Kumar Pradhan from Bhubaneshwar will present a duet rendition with Sridutta Bhol.
Dance delight
As part of the Chiguru programme, conducted by the Kannada and Culture Department, Meera Manoj, a disciple of Mithun Shyam, will perform on August 4, 3.30 pm at Nayana Auditorium, Kannada Bhavan, J C Road.
Musical spoof
The Cause Foundation is presenting Monty Python's 'Spamalot' on August 4, 7.15 pm and August 5, 11 am. It is directed by Leila Alvares and features Priya Mendens, Jude Lazaro, Prem Koshy, Shyju Varkey, Mark Swaroop, Darius Tarapovala, and Arvind Kasthuri.
The music director is Vivek Menzel.
The band comprises Robin Colaco (lead), Vikram Kiran (bass), Neville Bharucha (keyboards), Bethel Tsuzu (piano) and Vivek Menzel (percussion and drums).
The dance directors are Lynn Lazaro, Alisha D'souza and John Fernandez.
Sound and light are by Reynolds and costumes are by Asha Fernandes of Elan.
'Spamalot' is a rip-roaring musical spoof on King Arthur and his knights of Camelot and their hilarious quest for the Holy Grail.

'Young Performer...'
The Majolly Music Trust, in collaboration with Theme and Kawai Pianos, will present Mathilde Legrand (piano) and Jasiel Peter (violin) as part of their ongoing 'Young Performer Concert Series', which will showcase India's young musicians.

jugalbandi by Ustad Rafique Khan and Ustad Shafique Khan along with their disciple Ankush Nayak on August

'Ancient Secrets'
The Jayanagar showroom of Prince Jewellery is holding an annual exhibition and sale of antique jewellery 'Ancient Secrets' from August 4 to 19.

It will have originals, reproductions and originals remodelled to suit modern tastes from Chettinad, Travancore and Mughal eras.
