There's a lot happening during the weekend. Metrolife lists out some of the interesting events.

Candid shots

A photography exhibition will be held at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan till June 10. A group of photographers, based in and around Bangalore, will be presenting nature at its best in South India, art and culture of Eastern India, high hills and rivers of North India, coastlines of Sri Lanka, Malaysia and architectural wonders of Rome at the exhibition.

They have been into serious photography for more than five years now and their works have been displayed at several exhibitions and competitions both within and outside the country.
Dance-drama

The Indian Council for Cultural Relation is presenting a dance-drama, Sambhavami Yuge Yuge, by Natyanjal Ensemble on June 9, 6.30 pm at the Khincha Auditorium, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Race Course Road. The choreography is by Yuvakalabharathi Ashok Kumar. This is being organised as part of the 'Horizon Series'.

Seminar

Annapurna International School of Film and Media (AISFM) is conducting a seminar for the aspiring film-makers.

The seminar will be held on June 9, 2 pm to 5 pm. Chris Higgins, vice-president for admissions and marketing of AISFM, will teach film-making and the techniques involved in it. The venue is The Shelton Grand, 73 MG Road. For registration, call 8790113331.

Reality bites

The Bangalore School of Speech and Drama will be staging 'Perspectives', which is a candid look on life, on June 10, 3.30 pm and 6.30 pm. It is written and directed by the young playwright, Hasnain Shaikh. It will be staged at the Alliance Francaise.
Special compositions

Ananya is holding Haridaasarolirisu, a special concert comprising compositions of Haridaasas, in memory of late R N Susheela Bai, by T S Sathyavathi, on June 9, 6.30 pm at Ananya Sabhangana, 91/2, 4th Main, Malleswaram.

She will be accompanied by H S Sudheendra, B Raghuram and Dayananda Mohite.
'Copyright...'

Suchitra's media wing is presenting a seminar on the Copyright (Amendment) Bill 2012, called 'Copyright, Culture, Media and Identity', on June 10, from 10 am to 5 pm.

The venue is Suchitra, 36, 9th Main, B V Karanth Road, Banashankari II Stage. The programme is moderated by N Vidyashankar, trustee, Suchitra Cinema and Cultural Academy.

The registration is at 10 am. The opening session will be on 'Copyright: Introduction of the bill, its background, its provisions and implications for media'.

The second session is on culture, creativity and identity - dubbing, remake, heritage, history; the third session will be 'Impact on media' and the fourth session will be the open forum. For details, call 9845055034.
Live show

Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music will present 'Gamma Rays Fer Bell' live, a Bebop and contemporary jazz performance at Bflat, Indiranagar on June 9, 8.30 pm.

The band comprises heavy weights from France, Israel, South America and Texas; each bringing in his expertise and talent on a common stage.

Their influences range from authentic bebop, classical, even Carnatic, to Persian, gospel and contemporary jazz.

It will feature Raphaelle Brochet (vocals), Ofer Ganor (guitar), Gabriel Guerrero (piano), Marcos Varela (Bass) and Jovol 'Bam Bam' Bell (drums).

In concert

'Eight Hands Two Grands', a musical concert, will be held on June 9, 7 pm at the Alliance Francaise. It will be presented by Rebecca Thomas, Berenice da Gama Rose, Neecia Majolly and Bethel Tsuzu Therie.

Entrance is through donation cards which are available at Bangalore School of Music and Alliance Francaise. For details, call 41285017.

'Sridevi Mahathme'
