Dear Sir,
I am a first year engineering student of Electronics and Communication. I would like to do a specialisation course in programming while continuing studies in Electronics as I am passionate about both subjects. How can I achieve this while I am still in college? Are there any short-term courses I can take up during my summer break in between semesters?

Dear Karthik,
At this stage, one good option would be to look for internship in a medium or small electronics firm where you will be exposed to different departments and tasks, and get practical experience of work-life. Smaller companies generally are open to having interns as long as they don't have to pay. That will not only increase your employability, but will also help you take decisions of what type of job you would like to take up after your graduation.
Dear Sir,
My friend's daughter is interested in joining the Army after completing Class 10. Kindly let us know the procedure and other important details.

Dear Eshwari,
Girls are taken into the Army as Short Service Commission (SSC) officers, for a period that extends to a maximum of 10 to 14 years. They are admitted only after graduation, and depending on which branch of the Army they are joining, they will need a degree in Engineering, Law, Accounts, Education, etc. Details are available on the website www.joinindianarmy.nic.in
