This year, the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is being conducted by the Council of Architecture to facilitate institutions, students towards admission to a five-year B.Arch degree at all recognised institutions in the country.

The NATA also ensures that the eligibility criteria for admission to a five-year Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) degree, as prescribed by CoA and duly approved by the Central Government, are strictly adhered to and followed all over the country.

The last day of the test is August 31, 2012 and will measure the aptitude of the applicant for a specific field of study — Architecture. The test measures drawing and observation skills, sense of proportion, aesthetic sensitivity and critical thinking ability that have been acquired over a long period of time.

Prospective applicants can take the test on any working day till August 31, 2012 at designated test centres in the country. However, some test centres may open late or stop conducting tests even before this date. Check with the centre before registration.

Appointments are scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Students with a 50 per cent aggregate score at the 10+2 level with Mathematics as one of their subject, are eligible for admission to the B.Arch course in India.
