A remake of an epic
Two versions of the Ramayan are being recreated for the big and small screens — the question, however, is which one will end up hitting the bull's eye and raking in the moolah?
Bringing back a cult is never easy, least of all when the subject in question is the late Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan.
There have been a couple of brave attempts in the past — one of them by the same production managed to qualify even as a close second to the small screen original.
Not letting history dissuade them, the makers of a new production on Zee TV are working on reviving the classic on television yet again.
In fact, to do "full justice", the channel has even roped in the original kings of the mythology genre - Ramanand Sagar's production house - to helm the project.
Here's hoping it works out in the long run.
