The 'Culture Collection' exhibition, organised by Introductions Trade Shows Private Ltd, was held at Lalit Ashok Hotel recently.

The three-day exhibition, which had 150 stalls, attracted a whole lot of people from different parts of the City. It showcased a variety of items from all the states.

From junk jewellery to diamond jewellery, from silk kurtis to dress materials, it had everything. The 'Culture Collection' exhibition also had some of the finest collections in antique wooden furniture. There were also bridal wear, handwoven carpets and wrought iron artefacts, to name a few.

Visitors, specially women, thronged the stalls which had diamond and junk jewellery and those that sold dress materials and kurtis. Archana Reddy, the owner of the stall, which sold kurtis designed by her, said, "These are Indo-Western kurtis, which are made of cotton, silk and georgette. The response I got through the exhibition was really good."

Aun Abbas Jafery, owner of the stall 'Scherazad', had an excellent collection of junk jewellery from different parts of the country. For instance, the rings were from Jaipur, purses from Delhi and anklets and bracelets from Kolhapur.

Apart from this, there were also stalls with items meant to beautify homes. Wall-hangings made of glass and cardboard were popular among the visitors. "The exhibition is classy," exclaimed Shriya, a visitor. She said that the exhibition had most of the things she wanted.

"The collection in the exhibition is really good. I liked almost all the things here," she added.

Another visitor, Gauri, said that compared to other exhibitions, 'The Culture Collection' was not so expensive. "I think that the items sold here are not as expensive as we find in other exhibitions. Also, these items look durable and good," she said.

Other items on display included gemstone paintings, photo frames, thewa jewellery from Jaipur, embroidered quilts and Kolkata kantha saris.
