The music of the film Sagar was released at a colourful function in a City hotel recently.
The movie has Prajwal Devraj, Radhika Pandit, Sanjjanaa and Haripriya in the lead roles.
Dev Gill, Avinash, Sharat Lohitashva, Vinaya Prakash, Sangeetha and others play important roles in the film.
The music-release function saw many well-known people from Sandalwood. Darshan was the chief guest of the occasion.
Malashri, Aadi Lokesh, K Manju, Basavaraju, N M Suresh and Ramesh Kashyap were also present.
The event kick-started with the film trailer. The five songs in the movie received much applause. After the release of the audio CDs, Gurukiran, the music director of Sagar, said that all the songs in the movie are exceptional in their own way.
"Totally, there are five songs in Sagar. There are situation-based songs, soft songs and a power-packed song to introduce the hero. It was fun working on this project. I have worked with most of the people associated with this movie before, so it was like being home. We are keeping our fingers crossed for the success of Sagar," he explained.
The title is inspired by the name of the hero and the tag line of the film reads, 'A Liar Boy'.
The story revolves around a family of about 25 members who live under the same roof. Prajwal (Sagar) and Haripriya (Priya) grow up together and are part of the same family.
The story begins to take shape with the notion of both of them getting married.
Sagar returns to India after his studies abroad. But soon, Sagar and Priya realise that they cannot get married because they are not in love.
Although they try to fall in love, it does not work. That's when they decide that they would lie that Sagar is in love with someone else.
The rest of the movie is about lies, sentiments and action. The audience, however, will have to wait and watch the movie to join the dots.
"The cast and crew took over a year to finish the movie. The songs are excellent and the movie is a total entertainment package. I'm very excited about the release of the movie. If the movie becomes a success, it will be remade in Telugu," said producer Ramu.
Director M D Sridhar added, "The subject is different and the film is like a real-life experience. There is comedy, family drama, action and love. It has all the ingredients that a film should have."
Darshan was all praises for the cast of Sagar and said, "If you see the trailer, you'll know that this movie is going to be a hit."
Radhika Pandit was not present at the event as she was busy shooting outside Bangalore.
The movie is shot in Australia, Singapore and Sakleshpur, apart from Bangalore and is expected to release by the end of July.
Ashwini Audio has the music rights for the movie.
