Catch 'In Time' on January 24 at 9 pm on Star Movies.

Glimpses of the Middle East

Watch 'East to West' on January 24 at 11 pm on Discovery HD World. From the foundation of science, monotheism, commerce, justice, civil rights and artistic expression, 'East to West' tells the story of the birth and flourishing of civilization in the Middle East and its huge influence on the West.

From crucial phases in the world history, where the Middle East was the political, economic and cultural centre, the show explores lot of interesting facts.

Remembered by her characters

Children tend to remember actors and actresses based on the characters they portrayed. Juhi Chawla, for instance, has been fondly remembered as Banku Ki Mummy from Bhoothnath. And now, the actress hopes to create a new image for herself — once again, through a children's film.

This time, the film is called Main Krishna Hoon and Juhi hopes that the script will connect with the young audiences. "All the children know me as Banku Ki Mummy. Today, children know Katrina (Kaif), Kareena (Kapoor) and Deepika (Padukone) — that's very normal, but they still know me through that film," the 45-year-old says.

"So, I think it's nice when I do a film like this that kids watch. This time, they may know me as Kanta Ben," she adds, referring to her character in the film. In the movie, this character runs an orphanage.

Content with life and work

After an eventful 2012, Saif Ali Khan is looking forward to a racier 2013. The 'Race 2' actor is at peace with his personal and professional life.

His last film, 'Cocktail', managed to do well at the box office, he wed his long-time girlfriend Kareena Kapoor and for his forthcoming action thriller 'Race 2', he got the chance to drive around in high-end cars, shoot in locations like Istanbul and act along with some of Bollywood's gorgeous girls.

"It feels great! It seems my life is quite set — nazar mat lagao yaar (don't jinx it)," the actor quips. 'Race 2', an Abbas-Mustan movie, is set to release on January 25. It is the sequel to the 2008 hit film 'Race'. It also features Anil Kapoor, John Abraham, Deepika Padukone and Jacqueline Fernandez. Saif, who was part of the first movie too, says that times have changed for cinema in the country, and sequels are now accepted.
"When I did Main Khiladi Tu Anari (1994), we were contemplating a sequel to it. But then the idea was dropped because at that time, sequels never used to happen. But things change — there are some films that lend themselves to a sequel, and the 'Race' franchise lends itself perfectly," he notes.

'Parineeti has great energy'

Sidharth Malhotra has signed his second film, Hasee Toh Phasee, a romantic comedy with a middle-class backdrop. The actor, who proved his mettle in Karan Johar's 'Student of the Year', says that the film will go on floors sometime in April. He is paired with Parineeti Chopra in Hasee Toh Phasee, which is being co-produced by Phantom Films and Dharma Production. "It's by a new director, Vinil Matthew, an ad film-maker. It's an interesting script, a rom-com which is different from what 'SOTY' ('Student of the Year') was — it's very middle-class, cooler, younger. We will start shooting in April," the 28-year-old says. He further adds that it feels like he is doing his first film.

"Parineeti (Chopra) has great, great energy. It is my second film but it actually feels like I am doing my first film. Your first film chooses you and you choose the second film. So, we are becoming the actors that we are," he sums up.

In a world of crime

Fatal Beauty' airs on MGM at 11 pm on January 24. The film stars Whoopi Goldberg, Sam Elliott, Ruben Blades, Harris Yulin and John P Ryan. Detective Rita Rizzoli is a crusading narcotics police officer in Los Angeles, assigned to track down some killer cocaine. She poses as a prostitute and is soon on the trail of two small-time hoods who murder, in hopes of ecoming kingpins. Right from the beginning, Mike Marshak, a security agent working for Rizzoli's prime suspect, takes a special interest in Rizzoli — at first for his boss then later, as a romance develops.
