On the last day of the year, M S Ramaiah College of Arts, Science and Commerce celebrated 'Resolutions 2013', an event held to usher in the New Year and remember the one that passed.
The occasion began with an invocation dance by the students, which was followed by an entertaining cultural programme and an equally enchanting magic act.
The students tapped their feet to the beats of popular songs and racked their brains in a fun quiz.
They spent time rejoicing the glory of the golden moments of the past year and took a peek into what the coming one might be.
The wrong prediction by the Mayans was discussed and lessons on optimism were shared.
However, the most moving part was the tribute paid to the unnamed victim of the recent gangrape in New Delhi.
The students and staff lit candles and mourned for a braveheart that the nation has lost.
The day also saw students come up with individual resolutions.
Sohini Dutta, from the biotechnology department, says, "I want to go with the flow and stop over analysing things. I would also like to explore the world beyond science."
Her friend, Ishika Roy notes, "I want to enjoy every moment of life and also control my temper."
Some seemed to be academically-oriented, while others just seemed to be about changes in their personality.
"Many resolutions were made by the students, which related to their memories. They all welcomed 2013 with a lot of energy and joy," shares Kavitha S Raj, a lecturer in the department of technology and genetics.
As a whole, the staff and students resolved to create a safe and secure India for all.
The programme ended with sumptuous food and good wishes and hugs being shared between the entire Ramaiah family, in hope of a blessed year ahead.
