'Acting is very hard for me'

Priyanka Chopra is known for playing different kinds of roles — who can forget her performances in 7 Khoon Maaf and What's Your Rashee? — and now, she is all set to play M C Mary Kom in a film by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The legendary female boxer says she will be more than happy to show the actress around her house in Manipur and introduce her to the way she lives there.

"Right now, I am not sitting with her or the producer. We are going to sit for one or two days and discuss it. I would like to be there in Manipur to show the situation, how we are living. That will be very great," Mary Kom says.

"I am also very happy that she will come and see how we are living," she adds. If recent reports are to be believed, Priyanka's preparation for the role requires her to travel to Manipur to learn about Mary Kom's life. Meanwhile, Mary Kom says any actress could have played her as all of them are very talented. "Any actress can play me because all of them are very talented. Of course, now Priyanka will play me and I am very happy and lucky for that," she states. Asked if she has any interest in the acting world, Mary replies, "That will be very hard for me. They would not be able to finish (a film) for five to six years because I am not good at acting. When I face the camera, I get nervous." On the other hand, she is extremely comfortable in the boxing ring. "In the ring, I can do anything, any style of boxing, movement or trick. But acting is very hard for me," she smiles.

Working with her brother-in-law

Tanisha Mukherjee hasn't had much luck with films — so now, she is trying her hand at producing instead. Tanisha has always had the support of her sister Kajol and brother-in-law Ajay Devgan. It seems that she has ventured into production and has joined Ajay Devgn Ffilms (ADF). "I am not handling any professional commitment of Ajay's. I am working with ADF, which is our production house and yes Son of Sardaar (SOS) was my first production experience," the 34-year-old says.

Meanwhile, Ajay is happy with the way Tanisha has grasped the work she is handling. "I would say she started learning and she picked it up very well and she would continue handling things," Ajay says.

Tanisha made her Bollywood debut with Ssshh in 2003. Later, she did films like Popcorn Khao! Mast Ho Jao, 'Tango Charlie', Sarkar, 'Neal n Nikki' and 'One Two Three'.

'Pankaj Kapoor is a challenging co-star'

Acting alongside a veteran talent like Pankaj Kapoor turned out to be quite a challenge for Imran Khan, who will be seen sharing screen space with the actor in his upcoming film, Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola. "Pankaj Kapoor, as an actor, is a very challenging co-star to act opposite because he improvises a lot and he pulls out new things as they happen. You have to be in the moment with him, you have to be ready with whatever he will do and you have to be ready to pick that up and take it forward," Imran explains.

Besides Pankaj Kapoor, Imran says he was surprised to see the working style of acclaimed director Vishal Bhardwaj. He was especially glad to see the space Bhardwaj gives to his actors. "I was very surprised by his style of directing. He gives a lot more freedom to the actors than I expected. During the take, if you decide to do something different, he will let you do that. He liberates the actor and puts a lot of power in the
actor's hands," adds Imran, who romances Anushka Sharma in the quirky movie.
The film is slated to release on January 11, 2013.

Kareena in Karan's next?

Film-maker Karan Johar is keen on roping in Kareena Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan for his next film — which is as yet untitled. But despite that, the actress says nothing is official about the project. "It's not true. Karan had approached me for that film and we had a talk on it — but nothing is official right now. Nothing is concrete. Karan has a script in mind and he has offered me a role, but it's too early to talk about it," Kareena maintains. "I will be more than happy to work with Karan. I am very comfortable working with him," she adds. Recent reports also indicate that Kareena's husband, Saif, will have an extended cameo in the film. But Kareena says, "It is absolutely untrue."
According to rumour mills, the movie will be a period drama.
