She may have shot to fame as a calender model but there is more to Angella Johnsson than just looking pretty in front of shutterbugs. Her life took a complete U-turn when she won a modelling contest.

Going places: Angella dh photo by shivakumar b h Since then, she has ensured that she hasn't taken the platform given to her for granted and has made the most of the situation.

She keeps herself in tune with the fashion industry by interacting with up-and-coming designers and even moved to Mumbai to pursue modelling as a career.

"I knew this is where I wanted to be but I never expected my life to change overnight," says Angella, who was in the City recently.

But with the sudden fame also came the constant attention from the media and news of link-up with actors.

Ask her about it and she has a huge smile on her face and a cliched answer ready. "It is part of the celebrity lifestyle, isn't it? Frankly, I don't really care much about the link-up rumours. I don't want to even comment on them.

Because if I do, it will only make things worse. So I rather keep quiet and let the rumours die down," she adds.

There have been reports stating that Angella has signed a film contract with Salman Khan's home production. But the model says that she is not allowed to say anything about her acting career right now. "Iwill talk about it when the time is right," she says.

Like most actresses, Angella says that she is looking for roles with some meat in them. At the same time, she also adds that she does not mind doing a glamourous role. "Acting was the next logical step for me.

There was always a hidden actor inside me and everything else just fell into place slowly. As of now, Iam going for Hindi diction and kathak classes," she sums up.
