Tata Elxsi, a design company and part of the Tata group, has announced the launch of 'IGNITE 2012'- Design Contest - a platform that endeavours to provide future designers a chance to develop ideas that will shape the future.
The contest is a part of 'Connect D' — an annual event organised by Tata Elxsi to commemorate World Industrial Design Day.
The theme of the contest this year is 'Designing for Emerging Markets'. It intends to address how design can provide innovative solutions to address the inherent challenges and opportunities that exist among developing economies/ countries across the globe.
Design students pursuing their full-time graduate/ post graduate courses can take part in the contest. Students can submit their entries in any of the two design disciplines of:
- Product Design
- Visual Design across the following categories:
- Healthcare
- Interactive Devices
- Bottom of the Pyramid.
Winners (one from Product Design and one from Visual Design) will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 25,000 each along with a certificate from Tata Elxsi during the next 'Connect-D' event which will be held on June 29, 2012. The winners will also get a chance to pursue an internship at Tata Elxsi as part of their course curriculum.
