Most of the engineering colleges in the City are hosting their freshers' programmes this month — making an effort to pitch in their best and welcome the new batch of students to the college.
Like them, the students of Atria Institute of Technology too recently organised a freshers' day. The programme, which was intended to welcome the thirteenth batch of students to the college, saw a lot of interaction between seniors and the new freshers.
The entire college campus was decorated and sported a festive appearance on the day of the programme. The freshers seemed very enthusiastic, bubbling with energy and enthusiasm. Most of them looked like they couldn't wait to kickstart the new academic year.
The programme was a great opportunity for them, since they could discuss their little doubts and worries with their seniors, to better understand how to make the most of their years at the college.
The event began on a very promising note — all the seniors took an oath and swore not to indulge in any ragging. After this, the students were briefed about the various activities — both academic as well as extracurricular — that the college hosts every year.
The freshers also made the most of this chance to get to know their new classmates.
Avinash, one of the first-year students, explains,"We are excited to get to know out batch mates! As we are from different places and different backgrounds, we have a lot to share."
Others thought it was a good way to better understand what they were in for in the college. Many of them know that engineering isn't an easy course to get through, and they sought support from their peers and faculty members.
Vaishnavi, a new entrant to the college, attended the occasion with mixed feelings. "It feels great to have finally joined the course of my choice.
I am looking forward to making new friends — and concentrating on my studies, of course. I want to have fun and enjoy my stay in this college. Balancing both is going to be a challenge."
