Ragini Dwivedi has definitely struck gold in the South. Riding high on success, the actress has bagged films with all the top actors in Sandalwood. With her latest release Shiva, the young actress has proved that she is not only a pretty face but can also back it up with a promising performance.

Soon, she will be seen in an out-an-out action movie called Ragini IPS playing the title role in the movie. Ragini says that she is really excited about this project because she will be fulfilling her long-time dream of acting in an action film.

"Ihave really put my heart and soul into this film. For the longest time, I have always expressed my wish to be in an action movie but I was waiting for the right script. When Ragini IPS came along, I felt it was the perfect platform to try something new," Ragini tells Metrolife.

From a glamourous avatar to putting on a tough look was quite a transition for the actress. But she says it was worth all the effort and training she went through to get into the character. "I had to deal with some crazy ropes and kicking and fighting with people. But I did train for a good month. It was really important to train for this role because I wanted to get everything right and didn't want to make a fool of myself on screen," she says.

Not many actresses in the film industry take up the tough cop role. Very few, like Malashree and Vijayshanthi, have really made a long-lasting impact with their performances in such roles. The pressure is definitely on but Ragini says that it wouldn't be fair to compare her to veterans like them. "I really look up to actresses like Malashree or Vijayshanthi and hope that even I can make such a strong impact. But I don't think it would be right to compare me with them. They are veterans in this genre and I am just starting off," she says.

This also doesn't mean Ragini will be sticking to just tough roles henceforth. Having always been open to experimenting with different characters,Ragini says that she will still enjoy glamourous roles as well. Soon, the actress will be seen in a Malayalam movie 'Face 2 Face', where she stars opposite Mammootty.

This being her second Malayalam movie after Kandahar, the actress is extremely excited. Talking about 'Face 2 Face', she says, "It's an interesting, challenging and experimental role. I play Mammootty's wife. The movie is about nuclear families; it's a different avatar and I am sure people will definitely love me in it."

That's not all — there was also news of her starring in the Kannada remake of Kahaani. "There is some delay in the project which is why it is yet to take off. I guess once I complete my other commitments it should start," she signs off.
