'Item songs are amazing'

Actress Mink Brar made news when she kissed a South African woman in a pool a few years ago. Videos of her smooching the woman went viral. Years later, however, Mink has no regrets about the incident.

"Yes, I did it but what's wrong? I would kiss a woman and a man too. That doesn't mean I won't get married, have a normal life and have kids as well," Mink tells Metrolife. She explains that it was more like a truth-or-dare thing.

While her acting career is going well, Mink has also plunged into production — thanks to her brother, who decided to popularise their production house.

"I don't want to disclose anything about my next home production. I prefer that it remains under wraps," she says.

More than the performance-oriented roles that she has done, Mink is popular for her item numbers.

Her tall frame, good build and willingness to bare all has got her the tag of an 'item queen.'

"There's a lot of fuss being made about item numbers. I think item songs are amazing and created only to attract the masses. These special numbers are performed by actresses who are hand-picked for the purpose," she adds.

Mink strayed into acting in her early teens. "I have been acting for as long as I can remember and have played various roles.

There's really no role that I haven't done," explains Mink. She feels her age is an advantage and she seen a lot more of what happens in the industry, considering that she has been around for so long.

"A lot of things have stopped exciting me but production is something that I have seriously wanted to do for a while," she notes.

Mink has done a couple of item songs in a few Tamil and Telugu films. "I was considered a lucky mascot and did a few more songs on request. I'm open to acting in more movies from the South," she sums up.
