Nothing but praises for Sunny
Actor Arif Zakaria, who has worked with Sunny Leone in Jism 2, says that the Indo-Canadian porn star is a dedicated actress and he foresees a bright future for her.
"The obvious fact is that she is attractive, but she is a dedicated professional. She has been an actress for so many years now. She is very easy to work with. I think she is a big star in the making," Zakaria says.
The movie, also featuring Arunoday Singh and Randeep Hooda, is set to release on August 3. In the film, Zakaria will play the role of an investigating officer.
The actor also enjoyed working with director Pooja Bhatt, with whom he worked last in 2001 for the television show Dhund.
"It's great working with her. I had done television shows with her ten years back. She is a joy to work with.
She is very cool and urban and has a great take on relationships between different characters. It's good to work with people on the same cultural wave-length," adds Zakaria.
'Prabhu is very efficient'
Actress Shruti Hassan has been roped in as the lead actress for Prabhu Deva's next venture. "I have never worked with him before.
So for me, it is going to be lovely to finally get to work with him," Shruti gushes. Prabhu Deva, who made his directorial debut in Bollywood with the Salman Khan-starrer 'Wanted', tasted huge success with his second film — Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha-starrer Rowdy Rathore, that was released recently.
Both the action films did good business at the box office. His third venture will be a musical love story, produced by Kumar Taurani. Taurani's son, Girish, will be making his debut as an actor in the yet-to-be named film and Shruti has been confirmed as the heroine.
Even though she has not worked with Prabhu Deva, Shruti is full praises for the director. "Prabhu Deva is very clear, efficient and good with his work. It just helps you keep your focus on your performance and not worry about other things.
He makes the entire process so much easier," she states. The shooting for the film is likely to begin from August.
A scary flick to catch
Film buffs with a taste for the frightening have something to look forward to — Aatma — Feel It Around You, a horror flick produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak, is currently in the making.
This horror flick, which stars the B-town diva Bipasha Basu in the lead along with talented actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui (of 'Gangs of Wasseypur' and Kahaani fame), has commenced its first long schedule of 45 days to be shot at a huge set built at Filmalaya studio in Mumbai. The project had completed a short shooting schedule earlier at Vashi, Mumbai.
The film will also be shot in other locations in Maharastra, including Panchgani.
The flick is directed by Suparn Verma, who also happens to have written the story and screenplay.
The finest technicians have also been brought on board to give the movie a realistic touch, and the music has been composed by Sameer Uddin. Ace cinematographer Sophie Winqvist, with her team from Sweden, has been flown down especially to lend a European twist to the film's shooting.
Sukant Panigrahy is doing the production design, while the action director of the film is Jai Singh, with editing done by Hemal Kothari.
Looking for Prince Charming
There are plenty of VJs who are stepping into tinsel town these days — Sarah Jane Dias, who has appeared in Kyaa Super Kool Hai Hum comes automatically to mind, not to mention Ayushmann Khurana (of 'Vicky Donor' fame) and Rannvijay (who acted in 'Toss') — but one of the first to take up this trend was Shehnaz Treasuryvala, who was last seen in 'Delhi Belly' — albeit in a blink-and-miss role.
Shehnaz admits to thinking that video jockeys make excellent actors, since they have a lot of confidence in front of the camera.
"I think VJs make excellent actors, as we are not camera-shy and already have confidence. It's all under the blanket of being an on-screen personality," Shehnaz says.
Shehnaz used to anchor the music show 'MTV's Most Wanted' for many years, before she made a move to Bollywood with Ken Ghosh's 2003-movie Ishq Vishk. After that, she featured in films like 'Radio' and 'Delhi Belly'.
The 31-year-old will now be seen in romantic comedy called Main Aur Mr Right, in which she plays the role of a perfectionist looking for her prince charming. Shehnaz feels every girl will be able to relate to the story.
"Most girls, no matter how practical, independent, mature or modern they claim to be, cannot let go of the teenage girl inside them — the girl who's grown up on Shah Rukh Khan or Tom Hanks's films.
Somewhere inside us, we are all dreaming of a man who can sweep us off our feet and ride with us into the sunset on a big black horse. So, I think women of all ages can relate to the movie," she adds.
Asked if she is equally choosy in real life, she replies, "Not as much as my character. She takes picky to another level. I feel that no man is going to be perfect and check all the boxes, so I need to pick my top five and go with a man who fulfills those."
Directed by Adeeb Rais, 'Main Aur Mr Right' also marks the debut of television actor Barun Sobti.
