Philip K Dick's stories of warped realities, confusing identities and fantasies have thrilled us many a time but Total Recall is a total failure at that. There is absolutely nothing fresh in this version of the movie that even with all the action happening on screen, you'll still feel like yawning at times.

Earth, after chemical warfare devastation, has only two areas with population, the United Federation of Britain (UFB) and the colony. These places are connected by a tunnel through the earth's core and can be traversed only via the Fall. Douglas Quaid (Colin Farell), a colony-dweller working on assembling robots in UFB, is haunted by strange dreams and decides to take a trip to Rekall, where he is promised "If you have a dream, we provide the memory." This is a turning point for our hero who ends up struggling with his own identity.

Who among the two women should he believe? The movie has a lot of gaming action, running, shooting, jumping across the buildings and the heroes do more than what our superheroes are capable of doing, but it fails to make an impression. The dialogues are stretchy and obsolete at places. Superfluous action, dull characters and lack of substance and grace makes the movie absolutely forgettable.
