Kareena's glittery avatar
Kareena Kapoor is riding a new wave of success — and how. The trailer of her upcoming film, 'Heroine' — also touted to be director Madhur Bhandarkar's magnum opus — was recently launched along with a few posters of the film and it seems that Bebo's ultra-glamourous avatar in the movie is all tinsel town can talk about.
The trailer pictures a few clips in the movie, including a flash of the much-awaited item song Halkat Jawani and a few intimate scenes between Kareena and co-star Arjun Rampal.
The posters are no less sensational; while one of them captures Kareena lolling about in a glittery tank top and golden shorts, with an empty wine glass beside her, the other is a frame from Halkat Jawani, in which she is clad in a rani-pink
embellished sari, barely-there pallu and daringly-cut netted blouse.
The launch of the trailer was attended by director Madhur Bhandarkar, as well as Arjun Rampal and Kareena among others. While the boys looked dapper in white shirts and blazers, Bebo created quite a sensation in a cherry-red jumpsuit with matching lipstick and metallic, strappy heels.'Heroine' hits the screens on September 21.
Scrat comes to town
The most lovable character from the 'Ice Age' series, Scrat the squirrel, took Mumbai by storm recently as he travelled all over the city in a special convoy. The convoy comprised ten branded black and yellow taxis, which travelled through the suburbs of Mumbai with Scrat in tow, meeting numerous fans on the roads. This was the first time that this sort of convoy was organised and fans of the franchise had a lovely time thronging around the taxis and interacting with the comic cartoon character.
Another feather in the cap
After giving commercially successful films like Golmaal 3 and Singham, the jodi of Ajay Devgan and Rohit Shetty has once again passed the 100-crore mark with their latest comic caper, Bol Bachchan.
The successful duo have proved their magic at the box office yet again with the success of the film and this isn't all — this is the first time that Abhishek Bachchan has had the opportunity to enter this club. The movie also stars Asin and Prachi Desai and is a funny experience for movie buffs.
'Hats off to Aamir Khan'

Super Kool Hai Hum, feels that adult comedy as a genre has been accepted by Indian audiences.
Even though the first film in the franchise was ahead of its time, there is no hesitation among audience now to watch it.
"I think the first film was ahead of time. But now, audiences are ready for this kind of movie. Though at that time the film became a hit, it could have done better if the family audience had come. Society has changed since then," Tusshar says.
He also admits to being thankful that there are no other films of this genre in tinsel town. "We are lucky that no other film of same kind came in between, though we have had movies like Golmaal, 'Housefull' and Dhamaal, — but that comedy is different. This is an adult comedy," he explains.
But the 35-year-old actor is full of praises for Aamir Khan's home production'
'Delhi Belly', which was also an adult comedy but of a different type. "People did not have guts to make this kind of a film, but hats off to Aamir Khan as he made 'Delhi
Belly'. It is an adult comedy in its own way. It's a good film in spite of being bold and raunchy," Tusshar admires.
A chance to bond
Shabana Azmi and Jaya Bachchan rarely meet as their busy schedules barely leave them with any time together. But the two actresses got a chance to bond after they were left stranded at London's Heathrow Airport.
Shabana was to fly back to Mumbai from London, when her aircraft was struck by lightening, leaving her stranded. "Luckily the passengers had not boarded when lightning struck our flight. But it triggered off an interminable delay, which would have been unbearable were it not for the company I unexpectedly found," says Shabana. Luckily for Shabana, Jaya was also due to travel by the same flight.
"It was just providential. I don't know what I'd have done or how I'd have coped if I hadn't found Jaya among the stranded co-passengers," shudders Shabana.
And as they got together, Shabana and Jaya spent the next 24 hours having a delightful time until an alternative flight was arranged. "I just love Jaya's company. She speaks her mind, calls a spade a spade. We spoke about things that we can never discuss in Mumbai. We got the chance to bond, something that we rarely do in Mumbai," Shabana adds.
However, Shabana isn't too pleased with the way the London airport handled the crisis. "We were left unattended for hours. At 11.30 pm, the counters were closed and at 12 midnight, one simply had to leave the airport. It closes down at midnight. Simple," she complains, adding, "It's not an airport crisis that I am
likely to forget easily."
