Well being

QI am a 15 year old girl and my skin is sensitive to harsh weather. When I apply a moisturiser or a cream on my arms and legs, it creates a rash and that leaves an unmistakable red patch all over. I use sunscreen, body lightening milk, moisturiser or sometimes, just a light cream. These patches rarely cause itching, but are rather unsightly. How can I get rid of these rashes and patches?

AThe cream may have clogged the pores and caused these eruptions. Or it may be an allergic reaction due to the skin lightening product. For dry body skin, apply olive oil or sesame seed oil daily before bath and massage it on the skin. Use a mild glycerin soap, or a gentle, mild body wash or shower gel. They are easily available at cosmetic stores. You can also add a little turmeric to yoghurt and apply on the body two or three times a week, specially on the dry areas. This will also help to lighten skin colour over a period of time. Wash if off after 20 minutes. Mix a little rose water to sandalwood paste and apply on the areas with eruptions.
