'Duck, Death...'
As part of the 'German Puppet Theatre', the Indian premiere of 'Duck, Death and Tulip' by Martina Couturier will be held at Ranga Shankara, as part of the 'AHA! International Theatre for Children Fest'. Couturier and Ikkola's 'Duck, Death and the Tulip' is based on the children's book by Wolf Erlbruch.
The Duck has lived her calm and quiet life, as an unexpected guest shows up at the lake — Death. After the initial fear, Duck invites Death to bathe. Slowly, the two come closer, and yet at the inevitable end, Death is a little sad. It is directed by Joerg Lehmann and music is by Anja Gilles.

Animal affairs
The Indian Cartoon Gallery, which is located off M G Road, will host an exhibition of cartoons about animal affairs by Balraj K N. The exhibition will be inaugurated on July 21, 11.30 am and will be on display till August 5, from 10 am to 6 pm.
Unique works
The NGMA is organising an exhibition Ramkinkar Baij - A Retrospective, curated by K S Radhakrishnan. Ramkinkar Baij was one among the seminal artists of modern India. He was not only an iconic sculptor but also a painter and graphic artist. The exhibition, which is first-of-its-kind in Bangalore, has more than 350 works from various important collections. The exhibition is on view at the NGMA, Palace Road till August 14. The gallery is open from 10 am to 5 pm on all days except Mondays.
Fascinating spread
Rudraksha has been fascinating people across the world because of its mystical properties.

Rasika Academy of Performing Arts will present the bharatanatyam rangapravesha of Nandita Purushotham, a disciple of Kiran Subramanyam and Sandhya Kiran on July 22, 6.30 pm at Chowdiah Memorial Hall.
Melodious notes
Ananya is holding a Hindustani harmonium recital by Ravindra Gururaja Katoti at Ananya Sabhangana, 91/2, 4th Main, Malleswaram on July 22, 10.30 am. He will be accompanied by Udayraj Karpoor on tabla.
French fest
Alliance Francaise is holding an 'Indo-French Theatre Festival', in collaboration with Bangalore Little Theatre. On July 21, 'Home Bound' (3 pm) and 'Woman in Red' (7 pm) and on July 22, Rajdhani (3 pm and 7 pm).
Original paintings
Magnitude Gallery is displaying 'The Country Chimes', a series of original paintings which is a blend of music with rustic charm, till July 31.
These original masterpieces are based on folk with music and covers acrylic and mixed media mediums. Magnitude Gallery is located at No 140/13, 27th Cross, 3rd Block, Jayanagar.
'Vox Populi'
Yours Truly Theatre is presenting Vox Populi, a collection of four stories, which focusses on issues faced by today's urban educated people, in an interactive theatre format on July 22, 7 pm. The venue is Yours Truly Alma, Indiranagar. In this performance, the audience will be invited to 'interrupt' the performance by coming on stage and taking on the role of the protagonist or any other character in the story.
