'I don't want to disappoint'
One would think that after the success of his first film, Addhuri, Dhruva Sarja would heave a huge sigh of relief.
But the newbie says that his life post the release has only gotten busier. No, he has not signed on any new film — in fact, he is still going around town promoting his last one.
The excitement and bubbling energy are evident. Speaking to Metrolife, Dhruva says that this is the best time of his life.
"I have waited a long time for this and I am so glad and grateful to all those who have taken the time to watch my work and loved it," says Dhruva. Ask him how life has been post Addhuri and pat comes the reply, "It has been nothing less than addhuri (grand)."
Coming from an illustrious family, it was strange that he decided to launch himself under a young director like Arjun.
"For me, the script has always been a priority. When Arjun approached us with the script, my uncle (Arjun Sarja) was very impressed and felt that it would be the perfect launch for me. Also, Arjun has made a name for himself with his previous film and he has been a wonderful director," says Dhruva, who looks up to his uncle for inspiration.
And as luck would have it, the film did wonders at the box office as well.
Now, the pressure is definitely on the junior Sarja boy. Rumours have been doing rounds of him hiking up his renumeration and being extremely selective about his future projects.
"I wouldn't say that the pressure is not there but I am taking my time to sign my next project. There have been offers pouring in but as I said, the script and story matter a lot. I don't really want to jump into anything right now. People will surely expect a lot from me and I don't want to disappoint them," he says.
