Diploma in Poultry Farming

Suguna Group has entered the education sector with Suguna Institute for Poultry Management (SIPM).

The institute has been established under the Suguna Foundation, with the main objective of enabling a scientific understanding of poultry farming in the most conducive environment through a well-structured curriculum.

Suguna, with its 25 years of experience in poultry, is offering a platform to learn about poultry and allied subjects.

SIPM offers a chance for aspiring rural entrepreneurs to gain knowledge about the specified field and upon completion of the course, Suguna will provide continuous support to rural entrepreneurs in setting up and running their own farms.

The institute also guarantees 100 per cent placement to students upon completion of any of the diploma or certificate courses.

B Soundararajan, Chairman Suguna Group, said at the launch of the institute, "The Indian poultry industry employs more than 1,00,000 people and most of whom enter the industry without formal education.

More than 10,000 people from diverse educational backgrounds enter the industry every year, and get an informal training on the job. SIPM offers specialised courses such as Feed Manufacturing Technology, Incubation and Hatchery Management which are a first of its kind in India."

SIPM is located in Udumalpet, with proximity to Suguna's own hatcheries, chicken processing plant, feed mills, breeder farms, broiler farms, labs etc. SIPM is offering one-year diploma courses in:

*Diploma in Broiler Production Management
*Diploma in Broiler Breeder Production Management

SIPM is also offering three-month certificate courses in:

*Commercial Broiler Management
*Broiler Breeder Management
*Feed Manufacturing Technology
*Incubation and Hatchery Management
*Poultry Health Management

Eligibility criteria for the diploma courses include a 10+2 pass mark or equivalent in Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology).

The application form costs Rs 500. The last date for application to the August batch for the programmes is July 2, 2012.
