It's rumoured that actor Chiranjeevi Sarja sacrificed a lot, including an active nightlife, for his movie,
Vardhanayaka, that released last week. Chiru confesses that he worked extra hard for the movie and the credit for the same also goes to his mentor Sudeep, who has been instrumental in moulding the youngster into a debonair actor.
Recalling his experience of working in Vardhanayaka, Chiru says that the movie has taught him discipline and how to take his work seriously. "The experience I got during the shooting of Vardhanayaka is unmatched and it's worth reliving the experience," he says.
While Chiru is basking in all the kudos that have been pouring in from all quarters, he has begun work on his next project, titled Ajit which is a remake of Tamil film Paiyaa which had Tamil actor Karthi in the lead. And Chiru's next movie 'Whistle' is also ready for release.
Chiru has had to change his looks and put on a lot of weight for his character of a pizza delivery boy in 'Whistle'. "I had to put on a little weight and changed my hairstyle as well. I can't talk much about the character but there's a action, comedy, romance and drama in equal measure," he shares.
And about Ajit, Chiru feels that the although it is a remake, the Kannada version has been tweaked to suit the local tastes.
"There's a lot of change from the original. We've worked around the main character and made him more lively than what he was in the original version. I am sure people here will love it," he adds. Actress Sanjjanaa's sister Nikki plays the female lead in Ajit. And Chiru doesn't feel any different working with a newcomer. "Nikki seems like a professional and I am sure it's going to be fun working with her," he says.
Among all the people who have stood by Chiru, he says that he can't thank his close buddy and producer Shankar Gowda enough. "Shankar has stood by me like a rock and encouraged me no end," he wraps up.
