The Curious Case of Benjamin Button' begins with Benjamin's diary being read out to an old woman in her hospital bed. Benjamin Button was born on the day that World War I ended. His mother died giving birth to him. His father, Thomas Button, is shocked to see the old and wrinkled child born to his wife.
He leaves the baby outside an old-age home and never turns back to see what happened to him. Despite being young, Benjamin got along well with the old people as he looked like them.
