'Every film has its own destiny'
The shooting for Deewana Main Deewana, starring Priyanka Chopra and Govinda, was completed around five years ago. However, the movie was drastically delayed and for a while it seemed as though it would never hit the big screen.
Now, Deewana Main Deewana is all set for release and Priyanka can't be happier about it. In fact, the actress says that the long gap hasn't lessened her enthusiasm for the film in the least.
"When a film takes a lot of time, there are many reasons why it happened and how it happened, but that doesn't mean that the hard work and the love you have poured into that film will lessen," the 31-year-old says candidly.
She also admits that she's well aware of the fact that she can't control many of these issues. "Every film has its own destiny," she says, adding, "And about Deewana Main Deewana, the audience will decide (its fate)."
Meanwhile, Priyanka is all praises for actor Govinda, her co-star in the film. "I have been a big fan of Chi-Chi (Govinda). I love all his films. We have learnt to dance watching his song-and-dance routines.
He was very sweet while shooting. He was very good and a very senior actor. But he made me feel comfortable and I will be his fan forever," Priyanka smiles. Directed by K C Bokadia, Deewana Main Deewana also features actors Johnny Lever, Shakti Kapoor and Prem Chopra.
Great bond with Bipasha
Actor-producer Dino Morea may not be dating Bipasha Basu anymore, but he claims that the two are great friends even today. In fact, Bipasha recently unveiled Dino's fitness brand.
"Bipasha is a fantastic human being. She has always been there for me and I too have always been there for her," says Dino, who dated her in the late 1990s and even worked with her in the hit movie Raaz.
"I share a very great relationship with her right now. Yes, we were dating each other at one point of time and people tend to overlook it. We are very close to each other and we share a very strong bond," he adds.
After dating for about five years, the two drifted apart and Bipasha started dating John Abraham.
However, she broke up with John as well. When asked why he approached Bipasha to launch the fitness brand, Dino says, "Bipasha is known for her fitness. I wanted someone who has got enough knowledge about it. She is fantastic and she can talk about it."
Collaboration between movie giants
Emraan Hashmi and Kareena Kapoor have been finalised to feature in Karan Johar and Ekta Kapoor's first co-production.
The romantic drama will go on floors in September. "Proud to share that the Dharma (Productions) and Balaji Motion Pictures joint venture stars Emraan Hashmi and Kareena Kapoor.
(It goes) on floors in September 2013," tweets Girish Johar, head of acquisition and distribution, Balaji Motion Pictures.
Girish also reveals that another actress is yet to be cast for the movie, which will be titled in some time.
The project will be directed by Akshay Roy. Considering the different styles of film-making of Karan and Ekta, one wonders what the romantic movie would
be like.
In a tech-savvy generation
Super star Amitabh Bachchan keeps himself quite updated with all the new gadgets and gizmos — and his grand-daughter, Aaradhya, seems to be following suit.
Daughter of actors Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Aaradhya —who is only a little over a year old — chooses to tune into rhymes and TV shows of her choice on an iPad all by herself, shares the proud grandfather. "Aaradhya turns on the iPad to her favourite nursery rhythms programme all by herself... picks up
remotes wherever she can see one and points it to the TV in a pretence to put it on," Amitabh writes on his blog.
"What a fantastic generation of our world and what a pity we shall never be there to see it evolve into a world that shall be governed and controlled by little kids and their deep acumen at the cyber (sic)," adds the 70-year-old veteran. He has two other grandchildren too — Navya Naveli and Agastya, from daughter Shweta Nanda. Amitabh often shares stories of Agastya's smartness with gadgets through his blog.
A minor accident on the sets
A few rumours had surfaced recently which suggested that veteran actor Dharmendra had suffered a few injuries after having a fall on the sets of Yamla Pagla Deewana 2. However, a source close to the actor has dismissed these claims, saying that Dharmendra is perfectly fine. In fact, he recently celebrated the birthday of his younger son, Bobby.
"He is absolutely fine. It was just a minor accident," says the source adding that Dharmendra had organised a havan at his residence for Bobby's big day. "It was a very quiet celebration with only close family members," explains the source.
Directed by Sangeeth Sivan, Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 features Dharmendra along with his two sons — Sunny and Bobby. Anupam Kher too is in the cast of the fun drama, which is slated for a June 7
release.
