Talk of the town
Ever since the movie was announced, Barfi has been generating a lot of curiosity both within tinsel town as well as among film buffs.
And one of the main reasons behind this is a brand new romantic coupling — Ranbir Kapoor and Southern superstar Ileana D'cruz. Rumour has it that there's some sparkling chemistry between the two.
Ranbir Kapoor plays a boy named Murphy, who for some reason is always referred to as Barfi. He's pretty mischievous and always ready with a prank up his sleeve.
At the same time, Barfi is quite a charmer, especially with the ladies. In Darjeeling, he is the absolute talk of the town — although he can neither speak nor hear.
His bittersweet relationship with two beautiful young ladies, Shruti — played by Ileana D'cruz — and Jhilmil — played by Priyanka Chopra — sets in motion a change of events that will turn his life upside down.
Jhilmil too is an autistic girl but despite their disabilities, the film has not been touted as a dark or depressing one — rather, it is filled with light moments and mischievous jokes.
Directed Anurag Basu has created a film that is amusing, naughty and with no dearth of crazy antics.
A heart-warming tale of selfless love and the search for happiness in the smallest things in life, this story has a simple mantra: "Don't worry. Be Barfi!"
Priyanka Chopra and Ranbir Kapoor have starred before in the hit movie Anjana Anjani, and their onscreen chemistry was widely commented about even then.
Another tough act
The original action hero of tinsel town — Akshay Kumar — may have switched to comic roles for a brief stint, but he came roaring back into full form with Rowdy Rathore.
Following the success of the film, which managed to cross the 100-crore mark at the box office, it seems that Akshay is keen to pursue his knack for action even further. This time, he's taken up an action-oriented advertisement.
"Taking up from where I left off in Rowdy Rathore. Shooting in Kuala Lumpur for one of the most action-oriented ads of my career," Akshay tweeted, recently.
He also posted a picture of him jumping over a car. However, the 44-year-old didn't reveal the product or brand for which he is shooting the advertisement.

Old faces for 'Aashiqui 2'
Film-maker Mohit Suri will start shooting for Aashiqui 2 sometime next month with Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapoor in the lead roles.
He's quick to clarify, though, that the musical is not a sequel to 1990 hit romantic saga Aashiqui.
"Aashiqui 2 will go on floors by next month. We are planning to shoot the film in Goa, Mumbai and Cape Town," he shares, adding, "It's a new story. The only similarity is the music and the love story.
There are seven to eight songs in the film. It's a musical."
Directed by Mahesh Bhatt, the Rahul Roy and Anu Agarwal-starrer Aashiqui was not only a box-office success, but all the songs from the film — including Ek Sanam Chahiye and Nazar Ke Saamne Jigar Ke Pas were super hits.
Earlier, Suri had announced that he would make the film with fresh faces — but that
wasn't meant to be.
He says, "Earlier, we were planning to launch a fresh star cast, but it didn't work. As far as these two are concerned, they have just done two to three films. They both fit the bill
perfectly."
Tiring schedule for Sonu
Singer Sonu Nigam is spreading cheers across the US with his 'Klose to my Heart' tour, and says it has been his toughest schedule ever. He is in the midst of his 15-city tour of the US and Canada, which began on June 1.
Apparently, he has been loving the experience. "This tour has been the toughest ever in terms of effort. To the extent that I need to take a break now. Exhausted. But the thrill is addictive (sic)," tweeted Sonu, whose tour ends on July 7.
He also reveals that he suffered a chest infection last week. "Crazy travel schedule coupled with chest infection last week made life difficult. Concerts were blessed though.
Winnipeg, Edmonton and LA were memories to cherish. Glad it all went that well. Just landed JFK (John F Kennedy International Airport), off to Connecticut. Four concerts this week," he added.
