Back on the big screen

Aftab Shivdasani has been missing from the silver screen for quite a while now, but fans who have been dying to see the actor again are in for a treat — he will soon be seen in Vikram Bhatt's '1920: Evil Returns'. This is a supernatural thriller, which will be directed by Bhushan Patel.

The film also features actresses Tia Bajpai and Vidya Malvade. "To all those who asked about my next film, it's '1920: Evil Returns' releasing October 2012 (sic)," tweeted Aftab.
The 34-year-old made his Bollywood debut as a child actor with the 1987 sci-fi comedy 'Mr India' and also featured in Chaalbaaz and Insaniyat.

He made his debut as a hero with Mast in 1999, opposite Urmila Matondkar and later did films like Kasoor, Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega, Hungama and Masti.

No place like home

Aamir Khan may have to follow a hectic travelling schedule across the world to shoot for all his upcoming movies, but admits that he still isn't used to the intensive routine.

The actor, who will leave for Chicago soon for the shoot of Dhoom 3, says he gets homesick while travelling for work.

In an interview, Aamir confessed to being 'homesick' while away on shoots — and specially during the first week.

He will be in the United States of America for three months and will be accompanied by better half Kiran Rao and son Azad all through the schedule.

Produced by Aditya Chopra, Dhoom 3 is the third instalment of the popular Dhoom series.
Besides Aamir, another new entrant in the cast is Katrina Kaif, while Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra will reprise their original roles.

Lucky charm for Sonakshi

Sonakshi Sinha has been riding high on a wave of success — her debut as a curvy, rustic belle in Dabangg has raked in plenty of moolah and now, the actress has new reason to celebrate, since her latest flick Rowdy Rathore, in which she stars opposite tinsel town's khiladi, Akshay Kumar, has joined the much-hyped 100-crore club.

That isn't all, though — her new venture, 'Joker', in which she is once more paired with
Akshay, is also ready to release. She's managed to win herself a lot of praise for her level-headed acting, pretty features and traditional charm. One would think that the actress is confident in the niche she has carved for herself — but they would be wrong.
It appears that all this success has made Sonakshi a little superstitious. In fact, she's taken to carrying a lucky charm with her, even on the sets of 'Joker'.

Not surprisingly, given that her first big hit was the Salman Khan-starrer Dabangg, Sonakshi's new talisman is the pair of heart-shaped glasses that stole the show in the movie. She's going to be wearing a similar pair of shades in 'Joker'. It seems that these glasses spell success for the actress, each and every time.
'Joker' hits the screens on August 31.

Unhappy about taxes

Bollywood producer-director Farah Khan, who will make her acting debut with Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi, has expressed her displeasure over the government's announcement of service tax to be levied on actors.

Bollywood and TV actors will be charged 12 per cent service tax from this month on their earnings from acting assignments and endorsements.

This will be in addition to their income tax obligations. "And just as I have turned 'actress', the government has decided to also charge 12.5 per cent service tax to all actors. This is too much.

Kitna nichodogey yaar? (How much more will you take from us?)(sic)," Farah posted on Twitter. Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi is a romantic comedy directed by Bela Bhansali Sehgal and also stars Boman Irani. Actor Arshad Warsi also chipped in a similar concern, saying, "With this service tax, there will be some more jobless actors... Blame it on the tax. Very soon, all actors' payment will go directly to the government and they will start giving us the little per cent that is left for us as salary."
