The joy of picking up something great at a discounted price is really incredible. "It's always a great time to shop when sales are on — especially at high-end brands that are otherwise very expensive. For a shopaholic like me, this time of the year is most exciting and satisfying as well," says Irene, a student.
Most women agree with Irene. The fact that some brands offer two products at the price of one is also something that keeps pulling them back to stores.
For brands, these sales are a great way to clear out their old stocks and make way for new collections.
"This is one of the busiest times of the year for most of us. During sales, more people than usual come to shop. Now this is the festive season, it's perfect," says the manager of a popular clothing retail store.
Some people feel that end-of-season sales aren't worth it because most of the stock is of poor quality or out of fashion. But not everyone agrees with this view.
"I think if you go really early on during the sale, it's the best time to get good clothes. During the fag end of the sale, though, one rarely finds nice clothes," admits Akanksha, a professional.
According to Priyanka, a student, these sales are perfect for fashion-conscious people in the City.
"These days, sales don't include only clothes which are out of fashion. In fact, there are many brands that put really nice items on discount," she adds.
One has also observed that there have been a lot of changes in terms of the way these sales have been marketed.
One shoe brand is offering a special discount only for advocates, during non-office hours. In fact, the brand is also staying open till 10.30 pm. There are also a few brands that call in their loyal customers a day before the official sale begins.
"I love exclusive premiers of sales. These are generally for the loyal customers of the brand. One can get an idea as to what the store has to offer," says Lavanya, a professional.
With most of these sales are on till the end of this month, looks like it's celebration time for shoppers.
