His debut movie was based in the capital and now, VJ-turned-actor Ayushmann Khurrana is all set to start shooting for Yash Raj Films' (YRF) untitled project — once more in Delhi.
"I will be shooting for the YRF film with Sonam and Rishi Kapoor for one month in Delhi from February. I am very excited that I will be in Delhi," Ayushmann confesses.
Directed by Nupur Asthana, the film is touted to be a romantic comedy, based on two lovers and set during the time of recession. The 28-year-old has signed a three-film deal with YRF. He adds, "Every association depends on its credibility. I have recently joined Yash Raj Films and signed a three-film deal. They are the market leaders in film-making. It gives me a sense of security to be associated with credible people."
The actor, who made a dream debut in Bollywood with blockbuster 'Vicky Donor', migrated to Mumbai to pursue his profession. But he admits that he misses the hustle and bustle of the capital. "I like everything about Delhi. I am from Chandigarh, but Delhi is like home.
I miss the loudness of Delhi's culture in Mumbai," he explains. Speaking about the safety issue in the capital, he admits that it is a serious problem — but he feels that with time, things can change.
"I think it is the cultural divide. We have two separate Indias — urban and rural. Lopsided sex ratio, development and lack of sex education is the reason for all this. When people from rural India come to urban India, they pass judgment on the women, which is not right. It will take a while to change. You cannot change it overnight. A revolution can only change this," he notes.
Ayushmann's next release is Rohan Sippy's Nautanki Saala, coming out on April 12.
