No regard for the rules

'Exit Wounds' airs on HBO at 10.55 pm on January 11. In this film, Orin Boyd (played by Steven Seagal) is a straight cop, who refuses to follow rules. He saves the Vice President by breaking every single order that he had been given. As a result, he is transferred to one of the worst areas in the city. There, Orin comes across some corrupt policemen who make a living selling heroin to drug dealers. Will he be able to tell the bad guys from the trustworthy ones? Catch the movie to find out. It also stars Isaiah Washington, Anthony Anderson and Michael Jai White.

When tragedy strikes

Tune in to 'Orphan' on WBat 9 pm on January 11. Tragedy seems to follow nine-year-old Esther wherever she goes. She was orphaned in her native Russia. Her last adoptive family perished in a fire, that Esther barely managed to escaped. But now, the Coleman family has adopted her and life is good — until a classmate takes a serious fall from a slide, an orphanage nun is battered to death and Esther's new mom wonders if that tragic fire was actually an accident. The movie stars Vera Farmiga, Peter Sarsgaard, Isabelle Fuhrman, C C H Pounder and Jimmy Bennett.

It's the wrong company

'Boiling Point' airs on UTV World Movies at 8.02 pm on January 11. Two boys from a Japanese junior baseball team get mixed up with the yakuza (the local Mafia). When their coach is severely beaten up by the gangsters, the boys set off to Okinawa to buy a gun to inflict their revenge on the criminals. While there, they befriend a psychotic guy who used to be a part of the yakuza.

He is an outcast now and is planning a revenge of his own. Watch the film to see whether the three of them get want they want. It stars Yurei Yanagi, Yuriko Ishida, Gadarukanaru Taka, Dankan and Eri Fuse.

A dose of laughter

Catch 'Two and a Half Men' on Star World at 11 pm on January 11. In this episode of the show, Judith finds out that she is pregnant, Alan believes he is the father and Judith tries to keep him away from Herb, her new husband. Meanwhile, Charlie is on a mission of his own — he is trying to figure out why Jake is so irritable. Catch the show for a dose of humour and drama. The show stars Charlie Sheen.

Life in the band

'The Last Waltz' stars Rick Danko, Levon Helm, Garth Hudson, Richard Manuel and Robbie Robertson. On Thanksgiving, 1976, at San Francisco, 'The Band' performs its last concert after 16 years on the road. Some numbers they do alone, while some songs include guest artistes from Ronnie Hawkins to Bob Dylan. Scorsese's camera explores the interactions onstage in the making of music. Offstage, he interviews the band's five members, focussing on the nature of life on the road. The friendships, the harmonies and the wear and tear add up to a last waltz. Tune in to 'The Last Waltz' on MGM at 9 pm on January 11.
