In a short time, actress Ramya Barna has surely made a mark in the Kannada film industry.
With movies like Pancharangi, Lifeu Ishtene, Anarkali and the box-office Tulu hit Oriyadori Asal, Ramya has shown her talent and her versatility as an actress. But she says she still has a long way to go and do a lot more.
With a new year here, the actress says that she has made a resolution. "Last year, I was seen more at events than films. Unfortunately, I didn't have many releases. But this year, it's going to change. Most of my films are in the finishing stages and set for release. That's why this year, Ihave made a resolution to do more challenging roles and even learn a new dance form," she says.
One movie Ramya is looking forward to is 'Notorious'. For the first time, the actress is part of a thriller. Calling the genre a challenge, Ramya says that it was fun to be a part of the fast-paced film. But what she thinks is even more challenging is dubbing. This is the first time that the actress has dubbed for the whole movie. "Ihave tried dubbing before but not for an entire film.
It was really hard. Firstly, it was a thriller and to actually relive all the situations was a task but Iwas really happy with the final product. From now on, I look forward to dubbing for my roles," she adds.
Ramya was a part of a club song in 'Notorious', which a lot of people are calling an 'item song' but she dismisses this. "It's just a club song. Since Iplay the main lead, how can that song be an item number? But having said that, I am open to item numbers. Many actresses are doing it these days. Iguess people's mindset is changing and they are no longer looking at these songs as a 'bad' thing," she says.
While her Tulu film Oriyadori Asal took everyone by surprise by doing well commercially and critically, one never got to see Ramya again in another Tulu film. "Oriyadori Asal was a fabulous movie with an amazing team. After the film did well, I had a lot of offers from there but I wanted to take my time. Now, I have signed on another movie with the same team but Ican't reveal much on that," she sums up.
