Anyone who lives or frequently visits RT Nagar, and is in the mood for some authentic and delicious parathas or some quick chaats, should head straight to Delhi Darbar Paratha & Chaat. With the right ambience and affordable prices, there couldn't be a better place to indulge your taste buds.

The cosy and bright interiors as well as the enticing menu will surely set the right mood for the meal. The menu, which includes wholesome thalis, 27 different types of parathas, many tempting chaats, a variety of vegetable delights and a number of rice items, makes this place a one-stop eatery to explore myriad flavours.

"Bangalore is a place of mixed culture, with people from all across the country. South Indian food is commonly available, but there aren't many places around for parathas and simple north Indian food. That's why we decided to open this place," says owner Alok Sharma. "We are open to customising the food according to the needs of the customers.

The crowd has been overwhelming and the weekends, especially, see a huge number of people," adds Alok. Delhi Darbar Paratha & Chaat has a variety of basic parathas like aloo, gobi, mooli, methi, paneer and pudina. But there are also fancier options, varying from 'Lover's Choice' — which is a mixture of radish, onion and spice; 'Forget Me Not', a mixture of cottage cheese, cauliflower, carrot, onions and capsicum to 'Your Pleasure - My Pleasure', a combination of green peas, sweet corn, potato, onions and capsicum. Other parathas include Hum Tum, Sanj Savera and 50 - 50 paratha. The prices range from Rs 25 to Rs 50, and the parathas come with a gravy and salad.

Their chaats section in the menu — named chatpata chakna — includes mouth-
watering chaats like samosa chaat, kachori chaat, pani puri, vada pav and dahi bhalla, ranging from Rs 12 to Rs 30. Rice items varying from curd rice for Rs 35 to shahi pulav for Rs 100, are also favourites.

The place also offers a few rolls and some full-fledged thalis, varying from the
Executive Thali — that includes two rotis, a sabji and dal — to DD Special Platter that
includes kulcha, naan, paneer sabji, a dry sabji, raita, jeera rice, a salad and a dessert. Drinks vary from sweet and salty lassi to jal jeera. And those with a sweet tooth can indulge in gulab jamuns or kheer.

Vidya, a consultant for a recruiting firm, says, "I'm a regular here. We usually order the aloo paratha, but sometimes we like to indulge in the Dil Bahar Dil Kush Dil Baag Baag. It is very filling."

Delhi Darbaar Paratha & Chaats is located at 362/A, ground floor, Himani Complex, 80ft Road, opposite ICICI Bank, RT Nagar. For details, call 9591029479.
