Deepika Padukone has been in the news of late — not just because of her upcoming film, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, opposite ex-flame Ranbir Kapoor — but also because of her supposed tussle with Anushka Sharma. The two actresses are rumoured to be competing with each other for a plum role, opposite Salman Khan in the upcoming film, 'Kick'. In fact, Anushka recently made a few comments about her "competition" as well, which clearly pointed towards Deepika.
However, Deepika is maintaining a dignified silence about these rumours. In fact, when asked about the alleged cat fight, she simply says, "There is no truth to this and I always wish her well."
She recently won rave reviews for her portrayal of the brash and wild Veronica in 'Cocktail' — but the actress candidly admits that she has
nothing whatsoever in common with the character. In fact, she adds that the character she portrays in her upcoming film — Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, opposite ex-flame Ranbir Kapoor — is actually more like her real-life self.
"Actually, the role I play in Yeh Jawaani... is very similar to me in person — but Veronica was not. I think Veronica, as a character and as a person, is very different from how I am personally. But my role in Yeh Jawaani... is very similar to how I am," the 27-year-old confesses.
Directed by Ayan Mukerji, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani also stars Ranbir Kapoor and Kalki Koechlin.
