City-based rock band 'One Nite Stand' recently performed at Hard Rock Cafe. This was held as part of the 100th anniversary celebrations of The Bible Society, where Hard Rock Cafe is housed.
"It gives us immense happiness to welcome this day and be a part of the Hard Rock Cafe lineage. It has been a delightful journey so far," notes Sanjay Mahtani, co-founder of JSM Group, the Indian franchisee for HRC.
The band started their set with a cover of Michael Jackson's classic, 'Black or White', which got the crowd grooving. This was followed by songs like 'Coldplay''s 'Fix You', 'U2''s 'Where the Streets Have No Name' and Haddaway's 'What is Love' among others. Their 90-minute-show consisted of a lot of covers, a few originals and a couple of interesting renditions of popular dance tracks.
The ones that particularly stood out were their cover of Calvin Harris' 'Feel So Close' and their closing number, a mash-up of 'Kings of Leon''s 'Use Somebody' and Swedish House Mafia's 'Save the World'.
"It's not often that you come across house music covered by a rock band. Hard Rock Café is like home for us and it feels great to be doing this show on such a special occasion," shares Behram, the band frontman.
Though the band did go off a few times, they managed to keep the audience in high spirits throughout.
It sometimes seemed like too rehearsed an act, but all in all, the crowd went home smiling, which is what counts. "I had a really good time. I sang all the songs I knew and was shocked to hear them play songs like 'Levels', being played in a rock format. But it was interesting nonetheless. They are quite an entertaining bunch of musicians," says Monisha, who attended the event.
