Fine comedy
'Chapter 2', by Neil Simon, will be staged on November 24 at 7.30 pm and 25 at 3.30 pm and 7.30 pm at Alliance Francaise.
'Chapter Two' is one of Neil Simon's finest comedies and is an autobiographical peek into Neil Simon's coming to terms with the death of his wife which was followed by his love affair and subsequent marriage to actress Marsha Mason.
'Kala-Nadam'
Nadam is presenting a two-day annual dance festival, Kala-Nadam 2012 till November 27 at ADA Rangamandira, J C Road.
The festival will feature an array of programmes. Anuradha Vikrant and Shama Krishna will showcase Nritya Milana, a jugalbandi of bharatanatyam and kuchipudi on November 25, 6 pm. For details, log on to www.nadam.in
Alumni get-together
The alumni association of St Joseph's College, Devagiri, Calicut (Bangalore Chapter) is holding a family get-together 'Devotsavam '12', for its old students on November 24, 6 pm at Christ University. Fr Joseph Paikada and Fr Augustine Thottanani will be present on the occasion. Former Karnataka DGP A R Infant; and founder president of the association and former special secretary (Govt of India) Mohandas Paliath will be the chief guests. Theatre festival
A theatre festival will be held on November 24, 5 pm at Head Start Educational Academy, Sarjapura.
The evening will see a new production of the year, 'The Lands of Ups and Downs', a play written by Abhishek Majumdar and directed by Ashwini Kumar Chakre. 'Land of Ups and Downs' is a play for children and the relentless child in everyone who wants to learn the ropes of the world in wonder and not in fear.
Musical treat
Vamshi Academy of Music Trust is presenting 'Karthik Music Festival 2012' at Shri Akhila Havyaka Mahasabha 101, 8th Main, 11th Cross, Malleswaram on November 24. At 3 pm, there will be a nadaswara duet recital by Ramesh Babu and Ramachandra. At 4 pm, listen to the violin-sitar jugalbandi by Kalpana Venkat and Sivaramakrishna. The inauguration of the festival will be held at 5 pm. At 5.45 pm, a venu, veena and violin concert will be rendered by L V Mukund, V Gopal and J K Sridhar. At 7 pm, there will be a vocal recital by Shwetha Venkatesh.
Veena strains
D Subbaramaiah Fine Arts Trust is organising a Carnatic veena recital by Suma Sudhindra on November 25, 6 pm at Seva Sadan, Malleswaram.
Nalina Mohan will be on violin, M R Sainath on mridangam and G Omkar on ghatam.
Varied tunes
M A Narasimhachar Music Foundation is celebrating its '11th Annual Music Festival' at Gayana Samaj Hall, K R Road. On November 24, Malladi Brothers will be presenting a vocal duet.
Violin maestro H K Venkatram will be awarded Gaana Vaaridhi on November 25. This will be followed by veena, venu and violin ensemble. Entry to the concerts is free. For details, call 9844042502.
