'Ushus 12'
Christ University Institute of Management's (CUIM) will hold its annual national fest Ushus 12 on November 22 and 23. The fest will see participants from various B-Schools across the country come together to prove their mettle. The two-day fest will see many innovative and challenging events in marketing ('Perfect Pitch'), finance ('Casino Royale'), human resource ('The Recruit'), best manager ('Spy Of The Decade') and a theme event ('Skyfall'). The events have been designed so that every aspect of the business forum required to equip the young minds, are touched upon.
'Esplendida 2012'
The Mount Carmel Pre-university College will be hosting an inter-collegiate fest 'Esplendida 2012' on campus from November 22 to 24. The various associations of the college will come together to present as many as 30 events, which will be
spread over three days.
There will be group and solo dances — both filmi and western styles; Mad Ads, fashion show, rock show, cartooning, collage, painting, art and craft and Hindi creative writing.
The all-girl rock band will be performing for the very first time. Padmalatha, head of
department of English says, "This year we have chosen the theme Yuan Xiao, which means light in Chinese. The campus will be decorated with lanterns and lights — all made by the students themselves."
There will also be other events like 'cooking without fire', 'air crash', 'Harry Potter and Twilight Quiz' and 'Battle of Bands' which will see rock bands from across the City's colleges battle it out for the top slot.
'Shoutout 5'
M S Ramaiah Institute of Technology Theatre Society is hosting its annual theatre extravaganza, 'Shoutout 5'. The short-film festival will take place on November 21, from 1 pm onwards, while the theatre festival will happen on November 23 from 11 am onwards. For details, contact Manoj on 9620702952.
'Lakshya'
The CMR Institute of Management Studies is hosting the fourth national level management fest, Lakshya under the theme of Trividha, (meaning the confluence of mind, body and soul) on November 23 and 24 at CMR College, OMBR Layout. This fest brings
together more than 20 business schools from across the country.
Trividha provides a competitive platform with a plethora of events on marketing, finance and human resource.
T Balachander, director, department of management programme says, "Like in the past, we expect to attract a large and enthusiastic participation from eminent management institutes. We have some great sponsors this year and that leaves us with enough
money to give the students the best. We have registered more B-schools this year compared to the previous years." The fest will end with a fashion show.
