New avatar for Prateik
Prateik Babbar may be known best as a
romancer — all credit to his intense chemistry with Amy Jackson in Ek Deewana Tha — but the actor seems keen to expand his repertoire.
He will soon be seen in an action film — titled Issaq and is excited about this debut, saying that the audience will get to see him in an entirely new avatar. "Issaq, my action film, is in progress. Doing action was awesome and great.
For the first time, I have played with guns and you will see me in different avatar," the 25-year-old says, adding, "I will sport a lean, mean body."
So far, Prateik has been seen in stellar roles in films like Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na — where he played Genelia D'Souza's eclectic brother, Dhobi Ghat, Aarakshan and 'My Friend Pinto'.
Better than '3 Idiots'?
The Sharman Joshi and Boman Irani-starrer Ferrari Ki Sawaari has been released and Aamir Khan hopes that the film does well at the box office — to the extent that it beats the success of their previous movie '3 Idiots'.
"I am here to wish the entire team. I am sure they have made a good film and Sharman is a nice actor. Our wishes are with them. We want everyone who watched '3 Idiots' to watch Ferrari Ki Sawaari also. We wish that this film goes far beyond '3 Idiots'," the 47-year-old says.
Ferrari Ki Sawaari is Rajesh Mapuskar's directorial debut and has been produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra.
Rajkumar Hirani, who has edited the film, stated that the intention was to make a film for under Rs 100 crore.
"The film has not been made with the intention of crossing the Rs 100 crore mark. If that had been our intention, we would have been making at least one film a year.
I take three years to make a film. If money was the intention, then every year we would have been making two films," says Hirani.
Ferrari Ki Sawaari tells the story of a father who will go to any length to fulfil his son's dream of becoming a cricketer.
As sweet as it gets...
Bipasha Basu's fit frame may be a source of envy for many but apparently, the actress has a weakness — her sweet tooth.
The actress is currently in London to shoot the last leg of her debut international project, 'Singularity' and she's snatched the opportunity to indulge in some fabulous English desserts.
"Living in London is dangerous! Desserts here are to die for and constantly tempting me! Scones and clotted cream and now Eaton mess is messing me up (sic)," tweeted Bipasha.
But evidently, that wasn't the end of her sugary orgy.
She later took to Twitter again and wrote: "Croissants and mini doughnuts now! OMG! Am being constantly fed on this set! Help!" Post this came another culinary update — "Total holiday mood, though I am shooting! Walking around in Soho with my yum chocobar! Crisp London weather and wonderful people," she tweeted, along with a picture.
Despite these indulgences, though, she has been missing her good friend, designer Rocky S.
"Missing u Rock:( Will get bitter choco and come," she wrote to Rocky.
Retail therapy for the baby
Aishwarya Rai might be busy with a host of commitments but that doesn't mean she can't take time off for her little bundle of joy.
The actress was recently spotted shopping for her daughter in London — with the baby in tow. A few onlookers at London's famous Regent Street spotted the beauty-queen-turned-actress — along with little Aradhya — shopping for the baby.
'Whooaa,' tweeted an excited onlooker, adding that he had caught a glimpse of the duo.
Aishwarya was in London to attend the opening of a hotel and rubbed shoulders with other notables from the industry such as Italian actress and film-maker Isabella Rossellini, Korean actress Hyo Jin Kim, Chinese actress Li Xian Ran, and 'Slumdog Millionaire' star Dev Patel.
Two styles, one floor
They may have different styles of singing, but when ghazal expert
Talat Aziz and effervescent crooner Shaan took to the Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa floor
for a jugalbandi, they set the stage on fire. Aziz is one of the 12 celebrity participants on the forthcoming season of the dance reality show, while Shaan came to the sets to root for him on the opening episode.
The duo took the audience by surprise as they engaged in an entertaining jugalbandi, bringing forth popular songs and ghazals, and creating a musical fiesta on the sets, says a source.
The viewers had plenty of chances to clap, cheer and generally have a good time listening to the two veterans. Before signing off, Shaan wished his contemporary Talat good luck to pep him up for the competition.
