The latest mall in Bangalore to catch everyone's fancy, Orion Mall, Rajajinagar, pulled in all the more crowd by holding a fashion show recently.
Organised by Brigade Gateway's Orion Mall in collaboration with Mai Tai Lounge and renowned fashion choreographer Prasad Bidapa, this show presented the collections of some of the international brands retailing at the mall.
Despite it being a weeknight, crowd poured in and hundreds thronged the railings at the different floors of the mall to catch the models strutting down the ramp. Prasad Bidapa, the warm host for the evening, kept everyone captivated as they waited for the show to begin.
The first collection to be showcased was from the world-famous denim brand Levis. As the male models coolly came down the escalator, they sported a bare-chested look with only a pair of jeans to adorn them.
The women wore colourful tops and jeans while the boys came down again later to sport the 'Shirts of Summer', a cool collection with stripes and checks.
Up next was the women's wear collection from the Italian brand Vero Moda. It consisted of nice summer dresses in colours like yellow and peach.
Some striking contrasts were there too. For instance, a model sporteda black top and skin-coloured jeans.
The latest collection of Jack &Jones, the famous brand from Europe, was next. Boasting of the finest jeans, the brand's 'Fall Winter 2012' collection was showcased by the male models. All of them sported a casual look with jeans and a collared shirt worn over a T-shirt. They accessorised it perfectly with shades and colourful sneakers.
The grand finale of the evening consisted of party wear by the British brand — Debenhams. While the men were dressed in semi-formal dark suits, the women sported gowns and dresses. Though most of the collection was black, there were some models sporting peach and violet dresses too.
Sandalwood actress Ramya was the showstopper for Debenhams and had the crowd cheering for her as she walked the ramp in a black nd pink dress. Addressing her fans in Kannada, she asked, "Have you seen my latest film Katari Veera Surasundarangi?
Did you like it?"Speaking of the mall, she said, "Ihaven't come here for shopping yet. But I really like the place and I will surely come here sometime to shop."
Highly grateful to the crowd, Vishal Mirchandani, the CEO-Retail, of Orion Mall, said, "Orion Mall was started two months ago and has caught everyone's fancy in a short time.
I am grateful for the response we have received and hope that it continues in future as well."
