Classical moments
Shri Akhila Havyak Mahasbha Kala Vedike, in association with Cobalt Forum of Art and Music, is organising 'Hindustani Classical Music — An Evening' on November 4 at Havyak Mahasabha, 101, 11th Cross, 8th Main, Malleswaram. On the occasion, there will be a vocal recital by Sangeetha Kakhandaki and Pratibha Hegde. They will be accompanied on tabla and harmonium by Vikas Narega and Madhusudhan Bhat respectively.

Striking impressions
Galerie De'Arts is presenting, 'Theatre of Life' by S G Vasudev till November 25, 11 am to 7 pm (Sundays by request). The venue is 11th Floor, 1114, Barton Centre, 84, M G Road. Exhibition
The National Gallery of Modern Art and Malis are holding an exhibition 'Project Cinema City: Research Art and Documentary Practices' to commemorate 100 years of cinema on November 3 at 6 pm. The exhibition will be on till December 2, 10 am to 5 pm.
Contemporary art
NGMA, in collaboration with Alliance Francaise, is holding a talk on 'Contemporary Art in Public Spaces' by Guy Claverie and Archana Prasad at the NGMA Auditorium on November 4, 5.30 pm.
On stage
An English play titled, 'Valley Song' will be performed at Jagriti, Whitefield till November 4 at 8 pm (Tuesday to Saturday) and 3 pm and 6.30 pm on Sunday. The show is suitable for those above 12 years. It is set against the backdrop of post-apartheid South Africa. The cast include Jagdish Raja and Rebecca Spurgeon.It is directed by Arundhati Raja and music is by Sankarshan Kini.
Craft festival
The 'Sampoorn Crafts Festival', which offers flavours of rural India, is being held till November 11 at Chitrakala Parishat.

Film screening
Maraa and Pedestrian Pictures, in association with the department of
journalism, Mount Carmel College, are holding the premiere of 'Have you seen the Arana?' (Ningal Aranaye Kando?) in Malayalam with English subtitles,
directed by Sunanda Bhat on November 3, 5.30 pm at Mount Carmel College
Auditorium.
The film-maker will be present for a discussion after the screening.
Walk for health

The Indian Institute of World Culture is organising a Carnatic classical vocal music by Pavitra Ravishankar and Maithri on November 4, 6 pm. This is part of the 'K S Umapathy and Dr K Padma Umapathy Endowment Programme'.
Varied sounds
Suswaralaya College of Music is holding its 13th anniversary celebrations till November 4 at Sri Rama Lalitha Kala Mandira. On November 3, 4 pm, talavadya will be presented by Abhinav Sudhakar, M Abhiram, S Shyamakrishna and T P Purandara.
At 4.30 pm, as part of 'B Seetharam Memorial Programme' Ragam-Tanam-Pallavi will be presented by Swati Srinath (vocal), Prema Vivek (violin) and Vadiraj Bhat (mridangam). At 6 pm, 'Venkatalakshamma and K Pocham Bhat Memorial Programme' and 'Veena Vidwan G N Subramanyam Memorial Concert' will be held. As part of it, there will be recital on veena by Sankara Prakash Bonala. B K Raghu will be on violin, Calcutta Aravind on mridangam and G S Ramanujan on ghatam.
On November 4, 9 am 'Talavadya' will be presented. At 9.30 am, there will be a lecture demonstration by Shreejayanthi Gopal. At 10.30 am, 'Anoor Suryanarayana Memorial Programme' will be presented apart from other events.
Chamber music
The Bangalore School of Music is presenting 'Quintessence', an evening of chamber music in consort, on November 3, 7 pm at Alliance Francaise.
The programme will feature duets and trios by Paulette DeMello on the flute, Stuart Potter from the US on the bassoon and Daniel Bircher from Switzerland on the clarinet accompanied by Rebecca Thomas and Berenice da Gama Rose on the piano.
Paulette DeMello is a performer-teacher and has taught numerous students at Bangalore School of Music for two decades. She is a member of the 'Recorder and Baroque Ensembles' and plays with the 'Chamber Orchestra'.
Daniel Bircher is the co-founder and clarinettist of the 'Winterthur Symphonic Orchestra' since 1989. Stuart Potter has performed with professional Orchestras in the USA and has been trained in bassoon. Pianists Berenice da Gama Rose and Rebecca Thomas are both well-known on the concert platform. Unforgettable journey
'All About Jazz' will be presented at Counter Culture on November 3, 7.30 pm. The programme will have jazz, Indian classical and Indian folk music.
The evening will bring together George Brooks, the renowned jazz saxophonist hailed as the leading American voice in Jazz fusion; Asima, a male choir vocals and percussion ensemble from Kerala; 'Samatma', an instrumental ensemble and Devissaro, an Australian- born musician and composer, perform.
Groove on
Sean Paul, Grammy Award winner and king of reggae, will perform at Manpho Convention Centre, 90, Veeranna Palya, Nagawara Ring Road, opposite BEL Corporate Office, near Hebbal Flyover (Next to Manyata Tech Park) on November 4 at 4 pm.
He will groove to his new Tomahawk technique.
