'I don't consider kissing a taboo'

Mahesh Bhatt isn't exactly known for the candy-floss nature of his movies — which is why it was surprising that his daughter, Alia, chose to make her Bollywood debut with Karan Johar's 'Student of the Year'.
In fact, the film was everything that her father's camp makes it a point to avoid — stereotypical, cutesy and standard Karan Johar fare.
However, Alia believes she made the right decision in this regard — although she is open to revealing clothes and on-screen intimate scenes, she feels that 'Student of the Year' was a safe debut for her.
"I don't consider kissing a taboo. But I won't do it for the heck of it. If the script demands it and it is justified, then I will do it.
Like in 'Student of The Year', I have worn a bikini. I was very comfortable doing that because it was required and it isn't like I haven't worn bikini in real life," Alia says.
She follows the Bhatt-camp films and there are a few she likes — while others, she isn't such a big fan on.
"I love their (Vishesh Films') films. But that doesn't mean I love all their films. There are films that I don't like and I tell them about it too — but there are films that I love as well," she explains.
Considering the kind of films her father churns out, Alia feels it was safe for her to debut with a family entertainer like 'Student of the Year'.
"You can call it safe. The Bhatt camp makes films that are different. At the end of the day, it is all about how convincing you are on-screen.
Like Emraan Hashmi started with Vishesh Films and today, he is a superstar," she states.
Nothing but praise for 'Luv Shuv...'
Actors Neil Nitin Mukesh and Abhishek Bachchan seem to be quite excited about forthcoming film Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana, starring Kunal Kapoor and Huma Qureshi.
The movie, which producer Anurag Kashyap has been raving about at every event possible, is supposed to be a gentle comedy about a family recipe that is lost.
"I am a non-vegetarian but this dish is a treat for all vegetarians also. You will simply love Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana. Don't miss it," Neil tweets. "It marks the debut of director Sameer Sharma. A director to look out for," he further posts.
Co-produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Siddharth Roy Kapur and Anurag Kashyap, the film has been creating waves in the industry. "Obsessed with the music of Luv Shuv Tey... Can't wait to see it. All the best Kunal and Sameer," tweets Abhishek Bachchan.
His shot at fame
John Abraham might be on a professional high right now but the actor can still recall the days he spent struggling to find a footing in this industry.
And during this time, he admits, it was ghazal singer Pankaj Udhas who gave him his shot at fame. John credits the singer for his success and even says he looks up to him like a mentor.
The actor had appeared in the music video of the Udhas' song Chupke Chupke during the struggling days of his career and ever since, he calls the singer his mentor.
"I look at Sir (Pankaj Udhas) as a mentor because when I came into this industry as a model, the first person who graciously accepted me in his music video was him," the 40-year-old admits.
"With Chupke Chupke, he is the one man who is more than responsible for my success," John adds. Heaping praises on Udhas, John states, "His voice still sounds so beautiful — it's amazing."
'I owe my career to Yash Chopra'
Actor Saif Ali Khan, who cut short his post-wedding celebrations back home in Pataudi to rush to Mumbai in time for the final rites of Yash Chopra, reveals that the veteran film-maker was the only one he looked up to as a father figure in the industry.
"His family is the only family in the industry that I feel I belong to — outside of my own. I owe my career to him. He salvaged my career as he was the only one brave enough to sign me on at a time when no one was ready to cast me. And Parampara proved to be a turning point in my life.
It was like he saved me from going extinct! It was his constant faith in me as an actor that saw me reach here today," says Saif, who then gave several super-hit films with his production house, including the national award-winning Hum Tum.
A present for hubby
Celina Jaitley has been out of the public eye for quite a while now. But the actress makes sure she keeps herself remembered by tweeting obsessively.

"Did something special for hubby on his birthday. Tattooed his name on my ring finger," Celina tweets — but doesn't reveal the date.
The 30-year-old actress married Haag, Dubai-based Austrian businessman in January last year and the couple was blessed with twins on March 24 this year.
Seen in films like 'No Entry' and Golmaal Returns, she will next be seen in the Govinda-starrer Run Bhola Run.
