Parting of ways

A man has walked out of Madhuri Dixit's life — but it isn't her husband, Dr Sriram Nene. Apparently, Rakeshnath — who has been Madhuri's manager for the last 27 years — has finally parted ways with her.

Rakeshnath has been at Madhuri's side since 1985, handling her publicity, managing her accounts and even accompanying her to and from the airport every time she shuttled between Mumbai and Denver — where she was based after marrying Nene in 1999.

But despite all of this, rumours of a rift between Madhuri and Rikku — as he is referred to in the industry — have surfaced. If sources close to the actress are to be believed, the two have parted ways. And the reason for this, it seems, is Madhuri's husband.

Nene, who is a UCLA-trained cardiovascular surgeon, seems to believe that it's high time his wife signed up with a professional career-management firm, which could do a better job at boosting her second stint in the film industry. Madhuri's comeback films haven't managed to hit it off at the box office as well as she would have liked, which is probably why he feels this is a good idea.

"Madhuri has done well for herself in the last one year, after having moved with her family to Mumbai. He feels she will land more work if a professional agency handles her assignments," says the source.

Traumatised by the sudden demise

Yash Chopra's sudden demise left a void in many hearts in the film fraternity. And Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu, who were close to the veteran director, are in a state of shock.

The legend's death has apparently left them with a sense of emptiness, especially since he feels that Yash ji was the last of his contemporaries.

A traumatised Saira Banu says, "Dilip Miyaan is badly shaken. Now, everyone from his generation has gone. He is the last of the lot. Pray for him."

Drama on the sets

Hrithik Roshan has been known for his professional attitude on the sets — be it for a film or a simple advertisement. However, the actor apparently nearly walked out of the shooting of an ad recently.

Hrithik is the brand ambassador for a popular laptop brand and while shooting a television commercial for it, he became very uncomfortable with the execution of the ideas presented to him.

In fact, he apparently had serious doubts as to whether the concept was itself possible. While exact details of the issue are sketchy, one of the stagehands says that his unhappiness with the commercial's concept was evident. "Hrithik Sir was very upset. He kept saying that it was impossible and constantly asked the director and the client if they were sure about the idea. The whole set came to a standstill for a good half an hour."

Starry twist to the evening

Sexy Saiyan, Shivangi Sharma's new album, was recently launched by actor-cum-director Aslam Khan at the hands of Anees Bazmee.

The event turned out to be quite a star-studded bash, with actors like Pitobash, Krush Deboo, Madura Naik and Sapna Khan coming to attend it. Composers Siddharth and Suhas, lyricist Kumaar, Ratnakar and a host of other celebrities turned up for the launch as well.

Shivangi, looking pretty in a sleek black outfit and was the cynosure of all eyes. Music and mocktails took over soon and the venue resonated with the sound of Sexy Saiyan — all in all, it was quite a happening party.

Sunny bags a three-film deal

Sunny Leone might be a single film old in tinsel town — but she's still managed to create quite a stir about her presence.

She made a sensational debut with 'Jism 2' and although she didn't manage to strike a chord with the critics, the movie did fairly well at the
box office.

Now, it seems that she has signed a three-film deal with Alumbra Entertainment.
Sunny will shoot for the first of theme films in the second quarter of 2013, after which she will be wrapped up with her first film with a different production house.
