Spellbinding works
The National Gallery of Modern Art, Palace Road is presenting 'Ramkinkar Baij — A Retrospective', curated by sculptor K S Radhakrishnan, from June 17 to August 14. The timing is 10 am to 5 pm. The gallery is closed on Mondays.
Ramkinkar Baij is one of the most seminal artists of modern India. He was not only an iconic sculptor but also a painter and graphic artist. K S Radhakrishnan was also a student of Ramkinkar. R Siva Kumar, art historian, will deliver a talk on Ramkinkar Baij on June 17, 3 pm.
Film screening
As part of the film screening on heritage sites of the world, the screening of 'Kakadu NationalPark and Arnhem Land — Australia' will be held at NGMA, Palace Road on June 16, 11 am.
Heavy metal
The heavy metal festival, 'Bangalore Open Air', will be held on June 16, 10 am to 10 pm at BOA Arena, Acharya Institute of Technology, Soldevanahalli. 'Kreator, the biggest Teutonic trash metal band from Germany, will make their Indian debut and melodic death metal band Suidakra will co-headline at the 'Bangalore Open Air'.
Indian bands such as Kryptos (Bangalore), 'Dying Embrace' and Bevar Sea (Bangalore), '1833 AD' (New Delhi), 'Eccentric Pendulum' and 'Albatross' (Mumbai) will be sharing the stage with the gods of international metal world. Apart from this, the four bands, winners of the zonal finals of 'Wacken Metal Battle', will fight the ultimate battle at the 'Bangalore Open Air'.

Laugh out
Uttara Bhoopa Bchi, a humourous play, based on a book of the same name by late Rayasam Bheemasena Rao, will be staged by Antharanga on June 16, 7.30 pm at Ramanashree Heritage Centre, Sanjaynagar.
'Ever After'
Kynkyny Art is presenting 'Ever After', a solo show featuring mixed media photographs, collages and drawings of Mumbai-based artist Ichha Bhojani, from June 16 to July 6 at Kynkyny Art, 104 Embassy Square, above Ganjam Jewellers, 148 Infantry Road.
Solo recital
Nrithyalakshana, a solo bharatanatyam performance by Lakshana Shravan, will be presented by Natyantharanga at ADA Rangamandira, J C Road on June 17, 6 pm.
Vocal music
Indiranagar Sangeetha Sabha is conducting two musical concerts.
On June 16, 6 pm vidwan P Unnikrishnan and on June 23, 6 pm, vidushi Vijayalakshmy Subramaniam will present vocal recitals. The venue is Purandara Bhavana, HAL second stage.
Classical steps
Radhika Ramanujan will perform a bharatanatyam recital on June 17, 6 pm as part of the 'Dr M D Parthasarathy and Smt Susheela Parthasarathy Endowment Programme' at the The Indian Institute of World Culture, Basavanagudi.
