Art workshops

Bhoomi, the Centre for Art Studies, Bangalore, is conducting a series of art workshops. The objective is to provide theoretical knowledge in visual art along with the practical experience of engaging oneself into various art forms such as drawing, water colour painting, composition.

The complete nuances of the art forms are taught in a three day long workshop and five such workshops are dedicated to different dimensions of art and forms in one year. All the workshops are carefully planned and well structured so that the participants get sufficient time to reflect on the concepts and practice them to benefit the most.

The workshops are scheduled in the third week of November 2012, and the in the third weeks of February, April, June, August, 2013, with a retrospective session in November, 2013.

Fee: Rs. 7000 for each workshop inclusive of complete art material, snacks and lunch.
Who can attend: Anyone who is ambitious to harness their creativity and believe in its visual expression.

Programme on Analytics Essentials


Apex Global is offering a 12-day programme, Analytics Essentials, a foundation course in Analytics, at its academy. The focus of the programme is to build a strong foundation for understanding analytics and application.

The programme is designed to be a combination of facilitated and experiential learning so that concepts are applied and practiced with real business examples and case studies.

Exeter Distinction Scholarships 2013


The University of Exeter is offering a number of International Undergraduate Distinction Scholarships and Masters Distinction Scholarships to top performing students who accept a place to study on any eligible programme, enrolling in 2013.

Value: The awards of £5,000 are payable as a reduction on tuition fees for the first year only.

Application deadline: April 12, 2013 for undergraduate scholarship applications and April 30, 2013 for postgraduate scholarship applications.

How to Apply: To be eligible for an International Undergraduate Distinction Scholarship you must have firmly accepted your offer of a place to study on one of the eligible degree programmes by May 8, 2013.

To be eligible for a Masters Distinction Scholarship you must hold an offer of a place to study on one of the eligible taught Masters programmes, commencing in 2013.

RJ workshop


iReboot is conducting an RJ/Voice-over/MC workshop by voiceover artist and voice coach Prakash Paul. The workshop is engineered to give you an inside view on how you can use your voice to build a successful future in the advertising, radio, broadcasting and film industries as a voice over artist, master of ceremony, radio jockey and presenter.

After the course completes, participants also get an opportunity to try out their skills at a professional studio, and create voice recordings which doubles up as a portfolio to be used during auditions. A farmer friendly machine


Students of MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology have fabricated and designed a machine for farmers for a value addition of the farm produce. The students have designed and fabricated a machine which cleans food grains and powders them. The wonderful feature of the machine is that it runs with wind power. Thus, the machine is especially useful for farmers in areas where there is scarcity of power. The machine consists of wind mill, battery, food grain cleaning and food grain powdering units.
Students of MSRIT, Sandeep, Pruthvi, Avinash and Abbas have designed and fabricated the machine under the guidance of Asstant Professor Naveen Kumar B K, Department of Mechanical Engineering.



BSc Management-Entrepreneurship programme


UK-based University of Southampton's School of Management is inviting applications for its BSc Management with Entrepreneurship programme (3-years). The programme aims to provide a broad appreciation of management theory and practice from a number of different perspectives, combined with specialist knowledge of entrepreneurship.

The management element of the programme explores the basic theoretical principles in key areas such as organisational behaviour, finance, marketing, operations and project management. A central theme is entrepreneurial behaviour and how this relates to innovation, opportunity recognition and development, and new venture creation.

The School of Management offers opportunities to study abroad for second year students of BSc Management and BSc Management with Entrepreneurship. This includes Erasmus scheme and the School's own exchange opportunities where students are able to undertake a period of study at an overseas university.

The programme is of modular structure and students will cover eight modules in each of the three years of the degree, divided equally between the semesters.

The programme commences in September 2013 and the deadline to apply for the same is January 15, 2013. The Candidates wishing to enrol in the course should have 80 per cent overall in the CBSE/ICSE 12th Standard (Commerce stream). Students with a slightly lower average, but with extremely high grades in Mathematics are welcome to apply.

English language requirements are at IELTS 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in any component, or equivalent. The fee for the programme is £12420. Candidates who wish to enrol for the course can apply through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS).
