Lace is an all time favourite that has transcended time and failed to go out of style. Lace can be a perfect blend of casual and can also be a part of formal attire when done right.

The fabric can be seen in styles both retro and modern, edgy and romantic. Here are some tips to get the laced up look right this season:

-If you would want to wear lace to office, team it up with more structured pieces like a blazer or a pair of well tailored trousers.

- For a casual look, a short lace dress or a smart lace top with a pair of tights or jeans should do the trick. Complete the look by using a bright coloured belt across the waist. Add heels for a smarter look or cute ballet flats for a more casual look.

- An interesting trend is lace shorts which can be teemed up with a neutral coloured top and some simple accessories. It is the perfect way to give a complete feminine edge to the ever flaunted shorts.

- This season, lace is not about black or dark colours, but rather about pale shades like white, cream or pastel colours like icy blue, mint green, yellow and fairy floss that can be brightened with vivid accessories.

- Lace can also be added to your accessories like your ankle boots or ballet flats. You can also look for bags with a lace detailing preferably a clutch bag. Even jewellery with lace detailing can be picked up to complement your attire. The tip here would be to keep it simple and to employ the trend in small doses rather than an over kill. This could be done by using lace sleeves or lace collars to a simple attire

-Another perfect way to use lace would be to complement your outfit and use it as a correlating piece. This could be done by using a lace shrug to a colourful casual attire or a sheer lace shawl that can be used with an evening dress.
