Saif's family to boycott his wedding?

The hottest buzz in Bollywood right now is about the upcoming royal nuptials — none other than that of junior nawab Saif and his long-term girlfriend Kareena Kapoor.

The amount of speculation about the special day has been never ending — from
rumours that it would take place in London to Saif's ancestral home; from suggestions that Kareena would convert to Islam to whispers that mother-in-law Sharmila Tagore has already sent out wedding invites.

Now, the wedding has finally been scheduled for October. But the latest rumour to make itself heard in tinsel town is that Saif's extended family, from Bhopal and Hyderabad, won't be coming for his big day.

Although there will be many Bollywood bigwigs at the wedding, the buzz is that some members of Saif's family will opt to give it a miss.

A source close to the family says, "Saif's first cousins and his aunt may not attend the wedding. While some of them are travelling, some have not been invited, while the others don't wish to be a part of the nuptials."One can only wonder how Kareena feels about that.

Back to his roots

The Bhojpuri super star Ravi Kishan is all set to play the lead role of a journalist in the Marathi film Madhyamvarga — Middle Class. The film is being produced jointly by Laxmi Babaji Anjarlekar and Sanjay Gopal Chabriya.

The flick, directed by Harry Fernandes, also stars Sidharth Jadhav, Nayana Apte, Nisha Parulekar, Kashmira Kulkarni and Anant Jog. Says Ravi Kishan, "I have been born and brought up in Mumbai and am essentially a son of the soil — a Mumbaikar only. Therefore, I was longing to play a role in a Marathi feature film and was keenly searching for an interesting role in a promising theme."

"When Harry Fernandes narrated the story of this film, I found it interesting. I had worked with Harry earlier in several films and immediately agreed to be a part of this film. I understand Marathi well and I am reasonably proficient in conversing in Marathi also.

I am going to pay serious attention to different facets of my role and also the typical pronunciations of all my dialogues. Besides, even the dubbing of these dialogues shall be done by me," he adds.

Siddharth Jadhav adds, "I had once earlier played a role with Ravi Kishan in a Telugu film and since then we have became close friends." Conceived by Vasant-Sanjay, the story of the film is the brainchild of Harry Fernandes.

And the music's out!

Kunal Ganjawala released the music of the Marathi film 'The Strugglers' recently, in the presence of the French actress Christie Bourcq, who also performed to a couple of dance numbers from the film.

'The Strugglers' stars Chinmay Mandlekar, Sanjay Mone, Uday Sabnis and Priya Berde, among others. Present at the bash, which was hosted by the producer Shankar Nagre who signed the French actress for his forthcoming Hindi film, were Devshi Khanduri, Poonam Pandey, Aditya Raj Kapoor, Mukesh Tyagi, Leena Kapoor, playback singer Javed Ali, Adi Irani, Shiva, Rashmi Pitre, music director Dabboo Malik, Akruti, Rakesh Paul, Harish and Rajeev Paul, besides music director Adarsh Shinde.

Pleasant surprise for daddy's girl

The Son of Sardaar team, which was recently shooting in Patiala, got a pleasant surprise on the sets recently.

The team was visited by none other than the veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha, who dropped in on the sets to meet his daughter Sonakshi. Sonakshi, who has recently tasted what a flop is with 'Joker', was feeling very homesick, especially because of her hectic schedule of constant film promotions and outdoor shooting schedules.

Hearing this, doting father Shatrughan decided to go to Patiala and surprise Sonakshi in the middle of her shoot.

Sonakshi is very close to her father. But due to work commitments and hectic schedules, she has been unable to spend time with her family lately. When Shatrughan came on the sets, Sonakshi was so happy and touched that she became quite emotional. Shatrughan was very gracious and also spent quite some time with Ajay and everyone else on the sets.

A bit too involved

Madhuri Dixit has been particularly active these days, especially when it comes to the scripting of her own comeback to Bollywood. Madhuri, who is a part of Gulab Gang, is leaving no stone unturned to make the film a success.

Directed by Soumik Sen and produced by Anubhav Sinha, this will be Madhuri's second attempt at making a comeback after her last film, called Aaja Nachle.
Madhuri is using her knowledge of cinema and her umpteen years of experience to get the film a proper stead.

However, sources close to Anubhav say that the director isn't happy
with Madhuri's excess interference.

"Soumik obviously has to stay by the way of the script, which is being tailored and altered to adhere to every whim of Madhuri. But then, if she has liked the script and signed the film for what it was, why is she making so many changes?" says a source, on the condition of anonymity.
