The stunning finalists of 'Max Miss Bangalore' recently walked the ramp for a programme in the City. Poised, glamourous and stylish, the girls were beaming with confidence.
The 16 finalists showcased the Autumn-Winter Collection from Max. The contestants came from different family and educational backgrounds, which became evident when they introduced themselves.
The girls were advised on their diets by dietician Vasantha Kumar and they were groomed by model Achala Sachdev.
They walked the ramp in scintillating drapes and myriad hues and seemed grateful for such an opportunity.
"I am a freelance fashion designer and I always dreamt of being a part of the fashion industry. Finally, I have got a chance to translate my dream into reality. I am very thankful for getting such a stage," says Madhuri Manohar, one of the contestants.
While the first eight models sported flowing 'anarkalis' in peacock blue and green, as well as ankle-length skirts with bold, mirror-studded belts, the others showcased short dresses with knee-length waistcoats. The dresses were multi-coloured with Scandinavian prints and polka dots.
The contestants appeared confident, but a few of them fumbled while introducing
themselves. However, for most, the competition was a once-in-a-lifetime chance.
"This competition has given me the kind of platform I was looking for. I am here to put in my best. I believe in making my dreams come true and I am here to make it big," notes Ruksha, one of the sixteen finalists.
Rukmini, a first-year commerce student, adds that she always wanted to be a part of the glamour world. "I am here to win the title, as I have all that is required: beauty, intelligence and the right attitude," she says.
The contestants felt that the competition was also a learning experience.
Nicole, one of the finalists, says that she wants to make a mark in the fashion industry.
"Nicole, in German, means victorious. I want to bag the title. I consider myself lucky to be a part of such a platform. It will help me achieve my dream," she sums up.
