A bouquet of surprises

Call it flower power at its best! The Independence Day Flower Show, being held at the Lalbagh Botanical Garden, is teeming with visitors who want to feast their eyes on flowers of various hues, forms and designs. Organised by the Mysore Horticulture Society, the show only adds colour to the I-Day celebrations.
The various facets of the show is, in fact, an eye-opener for many. Vibrant flowers and floral replicas of animals and birds seem to be attracting both the young and old. Children, especially, are enjoying the tree house decorated with flowers and flower sculptures of the panda, duck and dinosaurs in the Glass House.
But that is not all! The ikebana decorations, which have the Olympics symbol as a popular theme, are a cynosure of all eyes. One can certainly not miss the bonsai, the vegetable carvings and the sand sculptures as well.
The nurseries and the stalls too are witnessing a huge crowd. Surely, the beaming faces say it all.
